Anticipating the Animal Flea Market tomorrow...

Tomorrow is a big day for us. Lilli asked if it was like a field trip. LOL. Yes, I guess it is. We are heading to Indiana (near Ligonier) for a flea market. There are a lot of animals at this flea market and it is fun to just go and look at everything they have. We have the truck loaded down with various cages. We have two large cages and several smaller ones inside of those. We have the wagon strapped on too, as it's so nice to have a wagon to put the cages on and pull along...adding your critters as you buy them and not have to carry everything. Those cages can get heavy fast. LOL I have Lauren's stroller packed and I'm also bringing her carrier. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't sit in the wagon without being strapped in, so we'll probably just use that for cages. She can walk a bit, and then we'll use the stroller or carrier. Tomorrow we hope to get: piglets?, various chicks, guinea keets, turkey poults?, a few laying hens, and maybe a mama banty or two (for hatching eggs in the future). Who knows what we'll end up with? LOL Lilli is bringing her own money and she can buy whatever she wants with it. I asked her what she wanted to buy and she said a stripey chick and some more egg chickens. I'm excited to go and looking forward to it. It's not very often that we all get to go and spend the day together. We are getting up and leaving early and I think it's about a 2 hour drive and should be a nice trip. I've packed snacks and toys to keep us busy along the way. I'm bringing a few books to read aloud as well. Lilli LOVES Junie B Jones, so I am bringing a couple of those for the car trip. I am also bringing my knitting needles and a book for me to read if the girls go to sleep. ************************************************* Remember our funny story with our current chickens? One rooster, one hen, one egg per day? Two different times we've gotten two eggs in one day! Our little layer must be a really great layer, or our rooster must be something special, or if she's hen that's crowing, I guess that's special too. LOL. The first time we got two eggs we thought maybe Lilli missed one the day before, since she hadn't collected in two days. But I gathered the ONE egg yesterday, so I know there wasn't another one anywhere in there. Then today Lilli goes out with her little egg basket and comes back with two eggs. That little hen is worth her weight in gold to give us two eggs per day. :) I took her a little treat of cinnamon bread this afternoon. LOL ************************************************************ I'll post tomorrow and hopefully I'll have pictures to show you our new additions. { Post a Comment } { Last Page } { Page 6 of 224 } { Next Page } |
