Recent photos from around our place...

Here are a few recent pictures from around our place.  These include all our critters except the cows/steers.  I'll include some pictures of them after our new steers are delivered on Saturday.

Here we have 'Stripey', our rooster that we thought was a hen.  Go ahead and give it to me, does he look like a rooster to you?

Here we have "Penny"...she really is a hen and has given us one egg per day EVERYDAY since we got her a week ago last Saturday.  She looks straggley (is that a word?) in the picture but she looks much better in person, I swear.  These were taken before we started letting them out to free-range.

This is Lilli gathering our 'eggs'.  Yes, the only reason there are two of them is because we didn't collect the one on the day before.  (thank-you for ignoring the fact that our coop is need of a serious paint job).

Here we have "King Tut", our one lonely piglet.  He is getting quite spoiled and
he's even happy to see us when we head his way...he knows we have something
for him to eat.
(Sadly, our other piglet died...we think it was from all the stress he went through on auction day).

Next we have our two Alpine does.  Angelina (brown with horns) and Violet (black and white).  Violet was in milk when we bought her but we dried her up when Lance got tied up elsewhere and I couldn't keep up with milking twice a day while home alone with the girls.

Here we have RC, the only 4-legged critter that lives in the house with us  (That we know of!).  He thinks he's a people too.  LOL

 Here we have RC and our barn cat "Socks".  They have a love-hate relationship.  RC LOVES to play with Socks, and Socks can't stand RC.  LOL

 Here we have Max and Zig, our two Great Pyrenese dogs.  They are great boys and really keep watch over the place.  They bark at everything...birds, rabbits, raccoons, leaves, grass...important things like that...everything except cars driving up the driveway...go figure.  Ah well, they are getting so big and they are such happy,  friendly dogs, we love having them around anyway :)

 Here the girls are playing in the sandbox on our deck.  It was Lauren's first time (this year) playing in it and she had a great time until she realized there was sand on her fingers that she couldn't get off...then she wanted to come in and wash.  LOL

 Here they are playing with play-do.  This was Lauren's first time with play-do and she did great...she didn't even try to eat it at all (that I noticed)!  LOL

This is how I found Lauren the other day after she found her sissy's stickers and proceeded to dump them all over the living room...she had so much fun I guess she wore herself out.  LOL
