The 23rd we had a gathering at Lance's Grandma's house with all of his aunts/uncles/cousins and their kids. It was a great time. Well, there was a mishap where Lauren tripped his Aunt Karen in the kitchen when she had a hot bowl of mashed potatoes (sorry about that Aunt Karen!). Other than that, it was a great time! :) Somehow, Aunt Karen managed to save both Lauren and the mashed potatoes. I have no idea how she did it.

Here are all of Great Grandma's kids, grandkids and great grandkids: (all but Lance's niece and her family, as they don't celebrate Christmas)

Lance even made a butternut squash pie for the occasion! It was good, similar to a pumpkin pie in taste. Here he is making it:

Christmas Eve was spent at Lance's parent's house. We spent the day there and had a wonderful visit. We hadn't seen his brother and his wife in months (he works out of state) and it was so nice to visit with them. We headed home about 9PMish so Santa could come.

We finally got the girls into bed around 10:30ish...we had to read our traditional 'Twas the Night Before Christmas' and open our 'one' gift (it's always pajamas), and put them on, and then leave out 'chocolate' milk and cookies for the big guy and carrots for the reindeer.

So we finally got them settled in and the big guy came. Good thing he rushed, as at 12:30AM, Lilli threw up. I thought it was maybe something she ate, as she overate some jerky/salami things earlier in the day. I put her in the tub and cleaned her up. Then she threw up again. and again. and again....every 20 minutes ALL NIGHT LONG. Poor baby :( She finally stopped at noon on Christmas Day.

Christmas morning we opened our gifts and spent time playing with all our new things.

Lilli got a new bed, a big stuffed puppy (we promised a real one soon), several movies, several board games (we love board games), a set of rubber horse stamps, a horse paint by number, blendy pens, a webkinz (arabian horse), and ??

Lauren got a Little Tikes slide we plan to keep indoors for her to play on, wooden blocks, stacking blocks and various misc toys. She loves her slide and is really having fun with it so far.

We had to cancel our outing to my uncle's house, as we were supposed to be there around 1PM and Lilli didn't even stop throwing up until noon. I am bummed we missed that, as we rarely ever get over that way and visit. Hopefully we can plan a gathering another time and hopefully my girls will be well for it!

After much deliberation, we did go over to my parent's house that evening. I felt like I was punishing Lilli if we didn't go, she couldn't help that she was sick. We went, but we only stayed a short time and hopefully nobody there will get sick.

We came home and all was well. Lilli still hadn't eaten, but she was feeling ok. She had a good night and got up the next morning and had some crackers. She still had a bit of diarrhea, but she's definitely on the mend.

At 3PM the day after Christmas, Lauren threw up. Sigh. She threw up every 10-15 minutes for 5 hours straight. My poor girls :( She settled down a bit at 8PM, but continued to throw up every time she took a drink. I tried not to give her much, but it's hard with a baby who is crying for a drink :(

I just hope nobody else gets sick. :(

Other than sickness, we had a nice day after Christmas. Lilli watched some of her new movies (Scooby Doo and Shrek 3) and she slept for a really long time this afternoon. Lauren played on her new slide and walked around getting into everything that we have out right now. The boxes for the Christmas ornaments are a definite favorite of hers. She loves her new slide and plays on it a lot.

Lance worked Wednesday and then went over to his parent's house for a short time that afternoon so he could get a little visit in with his brother before he leaves tomorrow. We aren't sure when we'll get to see them again, it looks like he'll be working straight through the summer months and may not be home again until after that.

Lance goes in early Thursday and has to work late. He didn't know how late, so I guess we'll wait and see. Hopefully the girls are feeling better.

We were supposed to go roller skating Thursday, but I called and cancelled when Lauren got sick. Hopefully we can fit it in next week.

No big plans for us. Lilli plans to spend a night with my parent's soon and we always have a 'Bartlett party' for New Year's Eve. We watch movies, play games, bake and eat junk food and snacks. We always have a nice time and I love being home with my family on that night. I look forward to it each year.

Lilli is out of school until January 7, so we are hoping to go roller skating, bowling, and take in a couple movies before that. She wants to see Alvin and the Chipmunks and The Water Horse.
