A journey of a thousand miles...

...begins with a single step.

Yes, our Lauren is walking. She has been taking 2-5 steps for a while now, going from chair to chair in the living room, but now she's getting brave. The other night she took off from our living room into our computer room and made it about 20 steps to the computer. She was wobbling all over the place, it was so funny! She made it though and I'm not sure who was more proud...her or us. LOL

Don't mind the one sock on, one sock off. She doesn't like socks at all and we try to get her to keep them on for bedtime...as you can see, it still doesn't work. LOL

Here she is feeding the dog. This was so funny. He did not like it at all and she thought it was great. You can see him being so careful not to bite her while she fed him. She had so much fun with the dog food, as she loves to put things into things and moving the dog food from one bowl to the other was a great time. Then she tried sweeping it up. LOL

Lauren spent the night at mom and dad's last night. She always goes there on Wednesday afternoons while I volunteer at Lilli's school, but we usually pick her up after school. Yesterday after school Lilli and I went shopping, then I was supposed to go shopping with a friend today, so it made sense to leave Lauren overnight, instead of taking her back again this morning...but I cancelled my shopping trip today because Lilli is home sick.

Lilli needed a new winter coat and all that goes with it, so we headed out last night. We had a nice time. We went to the Benton Harbor Mall and ended up at JC Penney. Everything was 50% off. She got a new coat, hat, mittens, scarf, and boots. Then she also got two pair of jeans and a shirt. I LOVE sales. Lilli was due for some new things. I usually just buy online, so we rarely ever go to a real store and check things out. I'm glad we did though. We had a hard time finding a coat that fit right in the arms. All the arms were too long. We ended up with a Columbia, so I'm happy with that. She does still need snowpants, but her coat is black and pink, so plain black snowpants shouldn't be hard to find at all. Penney's didn't have her size. I did just buy some from Ebay last night in a size 6, and I think I'll get some more in a size 7, just to be sure that they get her through the winter. Her coat is a 7/8. I'm hoping it gets her through until this time next year so we can hit the sales again. LOL.

One pair of Lilli's new pants, you can't really tell, but there are embroidered hearts and bling around the ankles. There is a cute heart belt that goes with them too. They are really cute. (I took it this morning):

Lilli has a cough again. I kept her home from school today because of it. It's really not too bad during the day, but she coughs a lot at night, so I wanted her to sleep-in and get some rest. We did a breathing treatment last night and that really helped her, but only gave her relief for about 4 hours. We'll do another one this morning and hopefully her cough will steadily improve over the next 12 hours or so.

Tuesday night Lance went to pick up a load of railroad ties from our friends in Bronson. On the way home with it he made it to about Gobles and had a flat tire on the trailer. By then it was dark, and the spare he had wasn't in the best shape, so he parked his trailer at his friend's house in Gobles for the night. Then yesterday he bought two new tires for the trailer and brought the load home. I think he plans to go back tonight and pick up another load. I hope it goes better for him this time.

I've been doing a little Christmas shopping online. Now that I see all the sales going on at the store, I really want to head out for a day of shopping. Hopefully I'll go soon, before all the Christmas crowds get too bad.

Have a great day everybody!

~Lisa
