Fall is just the season for birthdays! My mom and Lance's Aunt Karen both had birthdays on Saturday, Nov 3. We spent a few hours at mom's house and then enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Lance's Aunt Cathy's house for Aunt Karen's celebration. We had a great day. I did get one 'not very good' picture at mom's, but then the camera died. I really wanted another since Lauren wasn't looking and the flash was in the background, but the camera was done. I didn't get any pictures at Aunt Karen's birthday, so I'm posting a favorite picture I took a couple years ago:)
Mom and Dad with the girls on Saturday.
This is Lance's grandma with her children. Aunt Karen is on the left, then Dave, Cathy and Lance's Dad. I love this picture :)
Today we had another great day. Our friends Dave and Tracy and their baby Lauren came for a visit at mom and dad's. Their Lauren is 2 months old and so so sweet. I wish I had a picture to post. I may ask Tracy if she'll email me one of her so I can post one...what do you think Trace?
After they left, Lilli and I were in the kitchen looking out in the woods at mom and dad's. I was showing her something, but can't remember what. She said, mom, somethings down in the woods, what is that? Their was a whole tree shaking. Upon further investigation, I realized it was a buck rubbing his antlers on the tree. A big buck. Dad went to get his binaculars, but by the time he came back, the buck was gone. He kept looking and when he lowered them, the buck was right there by the window! It surprised dad so much he wasn't even sure how to get our attention. It was a 10-point and took off running before I got an up-close look.
My little Lauren is at mom and dad's tonight. It's making me crazy. I can't hardly stand it. I know she's fine. It's just very hard to be away from her. I know we need to though, and we'll both be better for it once she's weaned.
For the record, she is fine with it. It's me that's having a hard time. She's laughing and playing everytime I call and check.
Ok, I'm off to watch Amazing Race, I love that show. Talk soon...
