DD has a fever, no weekend plans after all...

Well, our plans for this weekend have changed.  DD came down with a fever last night so we will not be going on our road trip after all.

The week has went well.  I had my progesterone shot on Wednesday and my back side is still sore from that.  DD started coughing and having a runny nose on Wednesday as well.

I called her Dr on Wednesday just to see if they'd do a strep test, but they said unless she had a fever for more than 3 days, that it most likely was not strep.  She didn't even have a fever at that time, so we just laid low and hoped for the best.  Then last night the fever came up and we had a pretty rough night.  DD has a history of very high fevers.  She used to have tubes in her ears and she would get a high fever (104+) with each ear infection prior to the tube placement.  She really does pretty well with such high fevers, but I can't seem to keep them down.  She is congested and coughing PLUS suffering from a fever, so she was pretty miserable last night.

I gave her Motrin at 3:30 this morning and she promptly threw up (sorry if TMI).  I wasn't sure if any actually stayed in her system, so I didn't want to give her any more meds for at least 3 hours, so we rocked in the rocking chair while her fever went down a bit.  At 5, when DH got up and covered us up in our chair, we decided to lay down in our bed.  She slept pretty good until 7:30 when she woke with a high fever again.  Tylenol brought that down (it took about 45 minutes though), and she has been pretty good since then.  She looks sleepy, but is playing and watching TV.  She is more clingy than normal and we have rocked a lot this morning.  I hope we don't have to give her any meds during the day today...I feel like she takes so many meds at night already, I don't want to overmedicate.  Nights seem to be our worse.

So hopefully she'll be back to normal soon.  I'll probably sleep with her tonight so I can keep an eye on her fever. 

We are upset about missing our Ohio trip, but are hoping to make arrangements for sometime in April instead. 

It looks like we are going to just lay low all weekend.

hope ya'll are feeling better. we've got snow, sleet, ice here and not doing much other than farm chores.

I hope you all get better soon, please remember to relax some. You need to rest to charge your self so you can take care of your family.God bless, mj
