Baby eating every 2 hours? Help!

Ok, with DD5 I followed Babywise to the 'T'.  She was on the schedule from the time we came home from the hospital.  Baby has set her own schedule from the start.  I am fine with that, but she had settled into a pretty basic 'eat every 3 hours' routine...which is actually what Babywise suggests.  Now in the last several days, she has been wanting to eat every 2 hours..sometimes every hour and a half!  Not only is it tiring me out, I'm worried about my milk supply...2 hours isn't enough time for my milk to regroup, so she isn't getting enough to eat I fear.  I will try to make it every 2 1/2 hours tomorrow...maybe keeping her up longer after she eats so that when she goes for a nap, even if she wakes early, enough time will have passed for another feeding.

Sorry for the vent, I'm just tired out and hoping for some rest...

I did the babywise too!!! I found out that those little spurts when they start to eat more often is actually building up your milk supply. They only do it for a week or two, but when it is over, you are producing much more milk, and it will give them what they need when they get back on schedule. With my first I did the Babywise to the T too, but I had to take fenugreek to keep my supply up. With my other children, I didn't have to take it b/c I let them nurse more often to build it up. Anyway I had to smile at your entry...I don't function properly without a schedule!
Blessings, Rossie

I agree with the comment above. With my daughter she went through growth spurts and I thought she wasn't getting enough but she would just eat more often and pretty soon my milk would catch up and everything would go back to "normal" again. Hang in there it will get better!

Tea

I have heard there's a hot tea you can drink that will boost your milk. And just make sure you are well hydrated in general. That was always my challenge. I'm sure she's just going thru a spurt. Get some rest and drink drink drink! Denise
