A big day, and MORE sales!

We had a nice day today.
We had school this morning, a little later than normal, as DD woke at 6AM (a little early for her) and so she and I laid down together in our bed and fell asleep until 8:30AM. We usually start school at 8:30. Ah well. Homeschooling is great for the flexibility! LOL. So we started school about 10 minutes after getting up. We finished about 10ish. I did chores then, instead of before (since I was sleeping...LOL). Then we got ready and headed out for our day of shopping.
DD and I were invited along on a shopping trip with MIL and SIL. We met them at Target, as I had other stores I wanted to stop at while in town. If I'm driving 30 miles I like to do all the errands possible while there.
So we met at Target and shopped for an upcoming baby shower we are all attending. I purchased the shower gift, and soda...Pepsi 12 pack cans were on sale for $2.50 each...I bought 4 (That should last me awhile!). Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi on 3, and 1 Caf Free regular Pepsi for DH. He drinks very little soda. I drink it about once a day, with lunch, or with supper. I also bought 2 bags of goldfish crackers. DD's favorite snack and they were on sale for $1 each. We don't buy them very often and DD is thrilled.
From there we went out to eat at the Old Country Buffet. YUM! MIL treated us and that was so very nice :) We had a very nice time talking over lunch.
Then we headed to Hobby Lobby where I bought a few scrapbooking supplies...KC & Company papers were on sale for 1/3 off, and that company rarely goes on sale, so I bought several 12x12 papers. I also bought some ribbon, and 2 small wooden picture frames for DD and my dad to decorate with his woodburner.
MIL and SIL headed home from Hobby Lobby, and DD and I headed to yet another store. Meijer was having a great sale and I wanted to get all I could while I was in town. I bought
dog food (20#/$10 Healthy Weight Beneful),
Folgers coffee (2 cans, 4.99 each plus coupon for $1 off),
Downy (2 / $7)
Diet Rite soda...12 pack cans for $2.50. Sounds familiar huh? I know, I know...I just bought Pepsi...but Diet Rite is made with Splenda and I think that's a bit heathier for you. There were also several different flavors to choose from. I bought the cola, white grape, black cherry, and tangerine. LOL. I am STOCKED on soda by golly. I can't believe there were two brands on sale that cheap at once. We only see the 4/$10 sale about twice a year around here.
I did not know that there was a great cereal sale going on, so I am hoping to go by another Meijer tomorrow on my way to drop DD off at my parent's house. We are going to a friend's house an hour away, and there is a Meijer between her house and my parent's. LOL. Cereal (Raisin Bran and Cheerios) is on sale, 6 for $10. That is a great price! Cereal keeps a long time! LOL.
Ok...I have this crazy stock-up bug and just can't get rid of it! If it's on sale and we eat it, I feel like I really need to buy it while it's cheap! Does anybody else feel like that?
I filled my gas tank at the Meijer gas station, it was $2.20 per gallon for regular unleaded. How much is gas at your location? That is a good price for around here. The cheapest I'd seen before that was $2.29.
DD is in bed and DH and I are headed that way..we'll probably watch CSI, we enjoy that show, and it's coming on soon.
Tomorrow DD and I will do school...we usually do a shorter session on Fridays...calendar, singing, handwriting, and crafts are the general Friday routine.
I'll do morning chores before school, and then we'll head for our friend's house as soon as school is done. It's an hour drive, so we like to go early enough to spend a few hours there before having to head home. Tomorrow, we'll go straight to my parent's house from our friend's, and DD will spend the night with them.
DH and I don't have any plans for tomorrow night. If nothing good is coming on the TV, we'll probably rent a video (I can't remember the last time we did that...I think our account is still good...LOL).
The weekend is pretty open too. We have to buy hay, but that won't take long. I'd also like to clean out the chicken coop if the weather is nice. Tomorrow would be a great day for it, but I won't be home. Figures. Sunny and 40 degrees and I'll be in the car! Ah well.
Hope everybody has a great weekend!
Hugs, Lisa
