Our Family Day together...

Well, it was definitely interesting.

DH went to a near-by town this morning to fill up his diesel tanks for his upcoming vacation to Canada.

He came home and we headed out for the zoo.  I'd like to say it was extremely pleasant, but the truth was, it was a bit exhausting for all of us.  DH has problems with his knees, so he was sore from walking within just a few minutes of arriving.  I'm pregnant and always hot...and DD was upset because I explained to her she'd have to walk today (no stroller).  I'm not able to push the stroller uphill and with DH's knees, I didn't think he'd be able to either.

Anyway, despite our aches and pains and whining, we still enjoyed our visit at the zoo.  I did get a few pictures, but you can tell by DH and DD's faces that they are not in the mood for pictures.  LOL.

We left the zoo and we were all hot and tired.  DH needed to stop by a store, so he stopped at a Meijer (he needs better work shoes that have support, the DR thinks that may be part of his knee problem).  DD and I stayed in the car at Meijer.  He didn't find what he needed so we went to a Wal-mart.  He did find some shirts he was looking for at that store, but no luck on shoes.  So we went to another Wal-mart across town, as he did find a style he liked, but not the size he needed.

He did find what he needed at that Wal-mart, so it wasn't a wasted trip at all.  I hope the shoes help him.  He's been on edge lately and I know it's because he is in pain.

After that Wal-mart we went to an ice-cream place called 'the Parlour'.  We ordered breadsticks to split amongst us and then we all had ice cream.  It was very enjoyable, and very good.

All in all it was a very nice day.  Family days for us are almost non-existant right now (DH is working a lot of overtime).  Hopefully we'll be able to fit it in once a week or so when his work slows down this fall.

On pregnancy...I think I'm having Braxton-Hicks contractions?  I've been having this strange feeling for about a month now..it feels like the baby is stretching and my stomach gets really tight.  Well in the last few days, these are starting to get almost painful...not bad pain, just uncomfortable.  I watched my stomach yesterday and it dawned on me that it's probably BH contractions.  I did not have these with DD5, so I'm not sure what to expect.  I'll ask the OB at my appt on Tuesday.

Tomorrow is DD's surgery.  She is very scared and I feel so awful for her.  I tell her that it's ok to be scared and I don't know what else to tell her to help her feel better.  I think I may put her in bed with me tonight, I know she's worried.

I think my sister may spend the night here tomorrow night as I have an OB appt on Tuesday morning and I think it's too soon to get DD out after her surgery.  With it being a belly wound, I worry how she'll be in the car seat.  It doesn't seem like it'd be very comfortable at all.

Prayers are welcome for DD's surgery tomorrow.  It makes me sick to my stomach everytime she has to have a surgery.  :(
