Computer troubles...an update on the last few days...

Well...our computer quit working.  We knew it was going to happen, as it's been acting strange for quite some time now.  It finally wouldn't even let us online.  I called Wild Blue (the company we have our satellite internet through).  After being on the phone with them for an hour and a half, they said they'd send out an order to have somebody come out and see what it looks like from our end.  In other words, they had no idea what the problem was.

So I called my local office and asked to set up an appt (this was last week Wednesday).  They said they couldn't set up an appt until they heard from Wild Blue.  LOL. 

SO...Friday afternoon at 2:30PM I'm cleaning out my fridge.  It was bad.  I had to dump a lot of leftovers and had Tupperware stacked on the island in the kitchen ready to be washed, when the phone rings.  It's a guy from the local internet office asking if he can come fix my computer.  I asked when?  He said right now.  ???  Are you kidding me?  LOL.  I said sure and started throwing Tupperware in the sink and while that was soaking I came over here and dusted the computer and computer desk real quick.  I know it should have been done already, but those things just don't get done much around here.  Sad but true.

So he got here about 20 minutes later and fixed the problem.  The recent storms we've had must have knocked our dish out of whack, so he fixed that and mounted it down tight, then came in here and said my numbers looked good, and told me to have a good weekend.  LOL.  He was here about 20 minutes and now I have my computer back!

Last Wednesday DD had her first appt with the Asthma Dr.  It went pretty well.  It's in a terrible location in a big town, but the nurse was very nice.  I'm not sure of the doctor yet, first impressions are pretty important and I wasn't very impressed.  Ah well.  I liked the nurse and that's who we'll have to deal with the most.

They won't give a diagnosis on the first visit, so we still don't have the actual 'asthma' diagnosis.  However, they are sure enough that's what it is, and they have given her an inhaler ALONG with an emergency inhaler to carry at all times. 

They said I could just toss the meds I have here for the nebulizer in the trash.  I said I was not comfortable doing that when I JUST had them filled and it had cost me $32.  I said I could just use them until the nebulizer rental was done (Aug 23).  They said that was fine.

They also said that if DD gets a 'moderate' or 'chronic' asthma diagnosis, that there is a program that will pay for all of her asthma meds, copays, and appt costs.  That would certainly help our financial situation CONSIDERABLY.  They did give us samples for the two inhalers, and that saved us over $100!  I was very thankful for that.

DD goes back there Oct 4 and she should have a diagnosis at that time.

Thursday...Studies with DD and then she spent the night with my parents

Friday...I cleaned house (see fridge story above) and just hung out here until after the computer guy left.  Then I went and spent some time with my dad and DD.  My mom had went away with a friend for the day.

Saturday...DD and I did a math lesson (we are trying to get ahead for her surgery on Aug 14).  Then we went to DH's brothers house for a fish fry party.  DD stayed and ate and then my mom came and picked her up a for a little visit at their house.  The fish fry party got a little rowdy, so it was a good plan.  My parents brought her back about 9PM when she ate again and we headed for home.

Today...We watched TV, and DD made a card and wrapped a gift for a birthday party we attended this afternoon.  It was an hour and a half drive and I have a hard time with that anymore.  I would prefer not to drive at all.  LOL

The party went well, Aston turned 3 years old.  It was DD, Aston, and his two cousins, Kaylin (soon to be 2), and Kathryn (soon to be 1).  The kids had a good time and played and played.  I over ate and am not feeling so good now.  LOL

DD and I came home and played a bit, then she and DH headed to bed about 9/9:30PM.

Plans for the week:

Monday:  Studies and then Scrapbooking (I have to mail a circle journal out tomorrow, so I need to get it finished).  Then we are heading to my parent's house.  We'll have a nice reunion with my sister who just got home today from Alaska (she is living next to my parents).  Then DD will spend the night at my parent's house.

Tuesday:  I have to go and have my sugar test (gestational diabetes test) in the morning.  It's the one-hour test and I hope I pass.  I failed it with DD and had to have the 3 hour test.  That test was borderline so I had to follow a low sugar diet for the rest of my pregnancy...and have my sugar checked once a week at the doctor's office.  YUCK.  I hope I don't have to this time, but we'll see.  Then I'll either go get DD, or my parents will bring her home, or we'll meet halfway...or something.  LOL

Wednesday...Studies and ???  I hope to take DD to the movies this week...Ant Bully is playing and it looks pretty cute.  We try to go to all the kid's movies when they come out at the theatre, as our local theatre is really reasonably priced.

Thursday...Friday...Studies and ???

Saturday and Sunday...???  Maybe a math lesson but we really have no plans.

I do have to start planning for my sister's baby shower.  I'm really not looking forward to it at all. 

That's about all of our news I think....I'm glad to have the computer back!
