Well, we made our quick trip to Missouri on Friday and came home on Saturday. The trip went well and we didn't have any problems. It took us 12 hours to get down there (Mountain Grove area of Missouri) and 10 hours to get home...we hit construction on Friday afternoon right around St Louis, Missouri.
I think we have 3 does, 3 doelings, 3 wethers, and 1 buckling (we'll use him for breeding). I could have a number wrong on those kids, but that is what I think we have.
We were on our way home Saturday afternoon when my dad called and asked what we do with a baby goat ? He was doing our chores for us while we were gone...DH and I looked at each other and thought, "what baby goat"?? So I told him to take a towel and dry it off. He said it was too late for that, it was dry and running with it's momma in the field! LOL. I said that there really wasn't anything to do now except make sure it isn't hurt by the rest of the herd.
We were eating at Sonic when we got the call, so we named her Sonic. Yes, it's a girl! We get to keep her! YAY!
DH noticed on Thursday (before we left on Friday), that our Boer Doe Jeni was bagging up, and said we'd have to move her when we got back from our trip, as she was going to go soon...obviously it was sooner than we expected. LOL. We are so glad that little Sonic is doing well and didn't need any assistance. She is a cute little thing and we are so happy to have her :)
I'll post later about our visit to the farm where we purchased our new goats. It was a great experience and wonderful people. We met them on the Homesteading board. www.homesteadingtoday.com It's a great place and full of wisdom on everything to do with homesteading. I definitely suggest visiting there if you have any questions about homesteading...you can do a search and read previous posts on just about EVERYTHING.
I'd better get going, I just wanted to post about little Sonic and our other 10 new additions. Our little farm is growing, that's for sure.

I hope everybody is doing well, I haven't been online much lately to catch up with everybody. I hope to do that tomorrow...
