Dad is NOT doing ok...

Well, after a nice visit with my parents yesterday, I really thought dad was doing ok.  Not great, but ok. 

He gets confused and sees things that aren't really there or not really happening.  I don't think it's the medication he is on, as he has been on a lot of meds for a long time, and has never suffered from this confusion.

The girls and I left their house yesterday about 4PM and dad was doing pretty good and in good spirits.  He did say that he was worried about a pain in his back that felt the same as the pain he had with the blood clots.  It wasn't unbearable, but really pained him when he'd take a deep breath.

They ended up calling the ambulance last night around 8 or 8:30PM.  They took him to the local hospital where they ran a few tests but really couldn't find where his pain was coming from.  The scan did show an old injury that could be causing some pain, but this injury was never mentioned when he was in the hospital this last time.  It appears to be a cracked/broken rib in the vicinity of his pain.

They gave him Dilauded and that helped him a lot this time.  It didn't help him at all last time. 

He started feeling a bit better and he decided to go on home.  He has an appt with his primary Dr today, so hopefully they'll do something for him.

I talked to mom a little bit ago, and they were talking about calling the ambulance again as his pain is getting worse.

I'll post more when I know more.  Right now they just aren't sure what his best options are.  He is in a lot of pain :(

I will be praying that the doctors find the root of your dad’s pain and that he gets some relief soon. Hugs and prayers for all of you.
