Let me start off by saying, I have really enjoyed visiting all the blogs here at the homestead blogger, so much so that I want to jump in myself. Let me introduce myself, I'm a mom to 3 boys and a wife to a great guy. I live in Western North Carolina and enjoy spending time gardening, soapmaking, making art and just being here on the homestead. I hope you leave a comment, I can't wait to make some new friends.
Ok, that said let me start by sharing an interesting tidbit I've come across. A great site with tons of great frugal recipes and you might already be aware of it, but if not go there now! When I was first married I knew nothing of cooking, my poor husband has since taught my quite a bit (he's a peach), however in the early days I would struggle just to boil water. It's a running joke here at the house that the first meal I ever cooked him was an omelette. Of course nothing wrong with that right? Well, there is if the only thing you put in it was a whole onion. That's right, a whole onion, the poor guy!!
I just couldn't imagine why he didn't devour it right up, and I grew faint of heart when he picked through this feast I had placed before him. I can laugh about it now, because now I have no problem baking his favorite bread (Challah) or a dinner for our family of four all while watching a budget. I guess that's why I wanted to share this website (Hillbilly Housewife), I'm not only one myself but I have used these same recipes many times over and I know if you're a new wife or mother and as green as I was at one time you could use all the help you can get. She has a terrific $45 emergency menu for a family of 4-6, that's right a family of 4-6. Praise God it can be done!! Share your favorite frugal recipe with me.

It's always good to see new people join the group, the more the merrier. I too love Hillbilly HW, she is one of my favs.
My mother in laws first meal she ever cooked once married was a pound of spaghetti and a pound of white beans. That was it, no meat, LOL. She has come a very long way since then, I guess we all have to start somewhere.
Welcome.............Kitty
