How many prayers must she have said for her little ones?I just wanted to share this photo, this was my grandmother, we share a striking resemblance to each other in looks and in a few other details. She had 3 children also and she loved being a mother, wife, friend and believer.. She was kind, long suffering, meek~ she walked in the Spirit! I don't always make the right decisions & sometimes I freak out and take my eyes of Christ, but I'm learning. I don't remember her freaking out about anything, always so calm. But then again she had been through so much more in her first 30 years than I probably will go through in a lifetime. I just hope I am just as big of a blessing as she was. After many prayers myself our oldest is learning to drive, without incident and I'm so thankful. He's beginning to get the picture that dad & I know we know just a bit more than he, but his teenage attitude still needs improvement. By the time our other two turn 15 we should be well prepared !

After 16 years of marriage and 3 children (all of which are now teens), I'm surprised at how I've allowed worry to creep into my heart. I've been worrying lately about out oldest son, he's 18 and just recently acquired his driving permit and well... it's not going so good. Colby is a bit slower than most and a bit more stubborn (well alot more) than our other children so giving him instruction in the world of driving has been difficult to say the least. My worry has increased with every passing day, even though I know better. How do I let go and trust God? This seems bigger and more scary than any of the other things I've faced before, even though when I think about it I know it's not. Our boys aren't little anymore and letting go a bit is more difficult than I had ever imagined. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appriciated here.

I've been busy tonight, trying to get a few things in my Etsy shop. If you gals (or guys) haven't tried selling your handmade stuff here, you should give it a go! It's only 20 cents per listing and you can leave it up for months, it doesn't cost a dime to join~so what do you have to loose? Anyhow, here's my Oatmeal & Honey Soap for sale. I also wanted to invite you over to my art blog. I chose to start a second blog here at homestead blogger because of the great community, that Blogger just seems to lack! But I've decided to keep both blogs up to date~ what a chatty kathy (Lori) I am, LOL!!Hope everyone's day went well, it's my youngest boy's birthday (he's 13), now we have all teenagers in the house~ Pray For Me (no joke). Really, I think boys going through hormone changes are worse than girls. My 13 year old falls apart at the drop of a hat and the 19 year old knows everything. The middle one probably gets away with a bit too much lately because I'm so busy with EXTRA mothering duties for the other two. However, I am counting my blessings, they are such wonderful blessings in my life. Have a great evening everyone! Frugal Recipe Resource

Let me start off by saying, I have really enjoyed visiting all the blogs here at the homestead blogger, so much so that I want to jump in myself. Let me introduce myself, I'm a mom to 3 boys and a wife to a great guy. I live in Western North Carolina and enjoy spending time gardening, soapmaking, making art and just being here on the homestead. I hope you leave a comment, I can't wait to make some new friends. Ok, that said let me start by sharing an interesting tidbit I've come across. A great site with tons of great frugal recipes and you might already be aware of it, but if not go there now! When I was first married I knew nothing of cooking, my poor husband has since taught my quite a bit (he's a peach), however in the early days I would struggle just to boil water. It's a running joke here at the house that the first meal I ever cooked him was an omelette. Of course nothing wrong with that right? Well, there is if the only thing you put in it was a whole onion. That's right, a whole onion, the poor guy!! I just couldn't imagine why he didn't devour it right up, and I grew faint of heart when he picked through this feast I had placed before him. I can laugh about it now, because now I have no problem baking his favorite bread (Challah) or a dinner for our family of four all while watching a budget. I guess that's why I wanted to share this website (Hillbilly Housewife), I'm not only one myself but I have used these same recipes many times over and I know if you're a new wife or mother and as green as I was at one time you could use all the help you can get. She has a terrific $45 emergency menu for a family of 4-6, that's right a family of 4-6. Praise God it can be done!! Share your favorite frugal recipe with me. |
