What is a Secret Sister?

I keep seeing these entries about Secret Sisters and things they're making. Is this an on going thing or something just at Christmas? Its wonderful...how do you get involved?

Sometimes bloggers will host a Secret Santa/Secret Sister gift swap. This lady did back in Nov.: http://www.homesteadblogger.com/highhopesacademy/114994

I don't think you will find any going on this close to Christmas though. :-( Better luck next Christmas!
