The art of napkin folding ~ pictures
Posted in The Home ~ Cozy and Welcome
|
Meals in our home are always served at the dining table and we all sit down together to eat. I love having a big dining table and always use placemats and cloth napkins. It makes my table to welcome and says "sit down and enjoy your meal here". Its my 11 year old daughter Nicole who sets the table each night in our home and she's very creative at doing so. Her new inspiration has been a book on napkin folding someone gave her. She has read and re-read this little book and can pretty much do just about every napkin fold there is. Her new talent has been not only a conversation piece at our meals but we have come to enjoy these little pleasant surprises. There are only 3 of us right now so she gives us each a different fold each time. I love the attention to detail she puts in her folding and the love she puts into each persons "special just for them" fold.
Below are just a few she did this week. She's incorporated putting the utencils in the napkins as part of the decoration. I think these are just lovely and add that special touch to our table.

Nicole is such a great blessing to me, she'll be a wonderful mother and homemaker someday. Arent you just so grateful for the Lords blessings of daughters?

That's neat that your daughter is learning the art of napkin folding. I would love to learn how to do that. Wanna post a tutorial on that with your daughter? That would counted as school right? Homemaker in training is what I call it!
I am sure your Thanksgiving dinner table will look wonderful with those folded napkins setting on it. :)
love and blessings!
Love,
Rachel

I would love to find out how to fold cloth napkins with my kids. I have two boys and a girl. My oldest son that is after me in the kitchen to learn how to cook and bake. The younger two children just love pestering around me to lick the spoons! LOL! They'd get a kick out of napkin folding, and it would surprise their daddy when he got home from his army school in December. Plus it would give me a great excuse to go more green by switching to cloth napkins versus paper. Thanks!
