• Wednesday, October 17, 2007 - Teenager blues

My first born is now 16 and 1/2, and I miss him so much!  I know a lot of you will relate to this.  He now has a job, and a girlfriend, and I see so little of him these days.  I actually tracked him down tonight and told him I made Ham Chowder Soup for dinner, in hopes that he would come home for this favorite.  It worked.  But I caught him just after finishing pizza at a friends.  Oh well, he still came home.  I have a theory, God made the teenage years for us to get used to not seeing them all the time.  I am so excited for starting seedlings again in January.  For my birthday earlier this month, my mom bought me the corregated transparent roofing for my greenhouse.  The old roof blew off in a storm about over a month ago.  I have started making lists of what to start this next  year.  I'm afraid I'd rather be deciding on seeds than doing the sewing I'm behind on.  I did manage to repair a small stack of different things last night, and I feel good about that, but there is still so much to go.  Right now my 20 mo old and twin 9 yo's are twirling around in circles then falling to the floor together, I wish I could share how cute it looks!

I understand, I have 2 teens at home. They are home more than gone. But it is hard to see them go when they do. God Bless.mj

i needed that encouragement. i only have one son and he isn't far away from what you're describing. it's good to know i'm not alone in this transition from child to adult stage. what do you do to cure the loneliness.

If the teenage years are for us to use to not seeing them, it didn't work. I will never get use to not having them around. Mine are 23 and 24 and never gets any easier. Being a mom is the hardest job ever, don't you think.
