The Bible....I alway's find I have a hard time when I study and read the Bible, I dont know if many ofyou feel the same way or not, I read and sometimes find myself haveing not understanding anything I just read or have become more confused on something I have read, I love reading the word of the Lord....But at the same time, I feel like becuse I dont understand alot of what is read I am letting the Lord down.....Have any of you felt that way? I know I get the most wonderful feeling just picking up my Bible too read, I know that is the lord holding my hand along the way, but sometimes I feel as though I am a child in the mall that let's go of there father's hand and run's off not understanding what could lie ahead, I know this might sound silly...But it's really how I feel. I have read the bible for a few years now sence 2001 when I give my life too the Lord, I try and read the Bible everyday weather it's just a couple of lines or hole chaper's. I have recently started to read Bible story to my young son's.....But feel guilty becuse I hope I am doing the right thing and hopefully explaning thing's right too them....We have been useing the The Beginner's Bible http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=709628&netp_id=355903&event=ESRCN&item_code=WW&view=covers and I recently bought VeggieTales Bible Storybook http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/product?item_no=710081&netp_id=443943&event=ESRCN&item_code=WW&view=covers For them, The love Veggie Tale's.....But I also want them too love the Lord!!!

I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions for me?? Thankyou for your time everyone!

Blessings

~Ruth

Ruth ~ What translation are you reading? I read the KJV -- but some find it difficult to read because of the formal use of old english....... the NIV ( new inspired version) is a very easy version to read and there are others out there too.
Also I would suggest a bible study - does your church offer one? If not you may wish to check out the local churches in your area.
I have learned so much from attending a Bible study.
Blessings,

One thing to keep in mind ... just as we will never completely, fully grasp who God is, I don't think we will ever completely grasp His Words to us. Each time we read them, we might learn something new, or even be puzzled. I'm sure Joseph tried to see the good in being sold into slavery at times, but I'm not sure it was until years later that he understood.

Keep trying to understand, and I wouldn't beat myself up for not grasping it all . . . .
