The Dart Test

Posted in From the Bible

The Dart Test...

A young lady named Sally, relates an experience she had in
a seminary class, given by her teacher, Dr Smith.  She says
that Dr Smith was known for his elaborate object lessons.
Now one particular day, Sally walked into the seminary and
knew they were in for a fun day.

On the wall was a big target and on a nearby table were many
darts.  Dr. Smith told the students to draw a picture of some-
one that they disliked, or someone who had made them angry,
and he would allow them to throw darts at the person's picture.

Sally's friend drew a picture of  who had stolen her boyfriend.
Another friend drew a picture of his little brother.  Sally drew a
picture of a former friend, putting a great deal of detail into her
drawing, even drawing pimples on the face. Sally was very
pleased with the overall effect she had achieved.

The class lined up and began throwing darts.  Some of the
students threw their darts with such force that their targets were
ripping apart.  Sally looked forward to her turn, and was filled
with disappointment when Dr. Smith, because of time limits,
asked the students to return to their seats.  As Sally sat thinking
about how angry she was because she didn't have a chance to
throw any darts at her target. Dr. Smith began removing the
 target from the wall.

Underneath the target was a picture of Jesus.  Needless to
say a hush fell over the room as each student viewed the mangled
picture of Jesus; holes and jagged marks covered His face and
 His eyes were pierced.

It was then that Dr. Smith said only these words...
'Assuredly,
I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least
of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'
( Matthew 25:40. )
No other words were necessary; as tears
filled eyes of the students, as they focused only on the mangled
 picture of Jesus Christ.

Things found on church marquee signs

Posted in From the Bible

From my inbox...........

I hope these will bring a smile, as well as, a laugh or two.  It contains things that
were actually found on Church Marquee Signs:

The best vitamin for a Christian is B1.

Under same management for over 2000 years!

 Soul food served here.

Tithe if you love Jesus!   Anyone can honk!

Don't wait for the hearse to take you to church.

Don't give up.   Moses was once a basket case.

Life has many choices.   Eternity has two.   What's yours?

Worry is interest paid on trouble before it is due.

Wal-mart isn't the only saving place!

Prevent truth decay.   Brush up on your Bible.

It's hard to stumble when you're down on your knees.

What part of "Thou Shalt Not" don't you understand?

A clear conscience make a soft pillow.

The wages of sin is death. Repent before payday.

Never give the devil a ride. He will always want to drive.

Can't Sleep?   Try counting your blessings.

 Forbidden fruit creates many jams.

Christians, keep the faith...but not from others!

Satan subtracts and divides. God multiplies and multiplies.

To belittle is to be little.

Don't let the littleness in others bring out the littleness in you.

 God answers all knee-mail.

Try Jesus. If you don't like Him, the devil will always take you back.

The Puzzle

Posted in From the Bible

The Puzzle:

A father wanted to read a magazine but was being bothered by
his little daughter, Kelly.  Finally, he tore a sheet out of his
magazine on which was printed the map of the World.

Then tearing it into small pieces, he gave it to Kelly, and said,
"Go into the other room and see if you can put this together."
He was sure that would keep her busy all afternoon!

After only a few minutes, Kelly returned and handed him the
map, correctly fitted together.  The father was surprised and asked
how she had finished so quickly.

"Oh," she said, on the other side of the paper is a picture of Jesus.

When I got all of Jesus back where He belonged, then the
World came together.....

We may Smile and have a Wonderful Day with Jesus in the
center of our picture as well for; He tends his flock
like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs
in his arms and carries them close to
his heart; he gently leads those that have
young.  ( Isaiah 40:11 )
So always remember to
keep Jesus in the center of your life, and your World will come
 together as well!

Backyard Philosophy

Posted in From the Bible

True wisdom comes in many packages indeed. Sometimes
even out of the mouths of babes, and sometimes from those of
advanced years as well.  After all GOD often works through
   many different people.

  1. Be Fishers of Men.... You catch 'em, He'll Clean 'em.
  2. A family altar can alter a family.
  3. A lot of kneeling will keep you in good standing.
  4. Don't put a question mark where God put a full stop.
  5. Don't wait for 6 strong men to take you to church.
  6. Exercise daily... Walk with the Lord!
  7. Forbidden fruits create many jams.
  8. Give God what's right, not what's left!
  9. Give satan an inch and he'll be a ruler.
10. God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
11. God grades on the cross, not the curve.
12. God loves everyone, but probably prefers "fruits of the spirit"
      over "religious nuts"!
13. God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.
14. Having truth decay? Brush up on your Bible!
15. He who angers you, controls you!
16. He who is good at making excuses, is seldom good for
      anything else.
17. He who kneels before God can stand before anyone!
18. Kindness is difficult to give away because it keeps coming back.
19. Most people want to serve God, but only in an advisory capacity.
20. Never give the devil a ride! He will always want to drive!
21. Nothing ruins the truth like stretching it.
22. Plan ahead. It wasn't raining when Noah built the ark.
23. "Pray" is a four-letter word that you can say anywhere.
24. Prayer - Don't give God instructions - just report for duty!
25. The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of
      God will not protect you.
26. This Church is "Prayer Conditioned"!
27. To be almost saved is to be totally lost.
28. WARNING: Exposure to the Son may prevent burning!
29. Watch your step carefully! Everyone else does!
30. We don't change the message, the message changes us.
31. Wisdom has two parts: 1) Having a lot to say.  2) Not saying it.
32. Worry is the darkroom in which "negatives" are developed
33. The work will wait while you look at the rainbow, but the
rainbow won't wait while you do the work.

Now,  I hope that you have enjoyed this message.
Have a great weekend, and remember that God answers all
   knee mail!

Posted in From the Bible

cutecolorsre4.gif

Just as we need food to sustain our human body,
we also need spiritual food to sustain our Spiritual
   body as well!

Now a good meal should consist of vitamins and
minerals, and perhaps a dessert.  So today we will
look at Biblical Vitamins for our Spiritual well being.

   When Anxious, take vitamin "A"
ALL THINGS WORK TOGETHER FOR GOOD TO
THOSE WHO LOVE WHO LOVE GOD, TO THOSE
WHO ARE CALLED ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.
       ( ROMANS 8:28 )

   When Crushed, take vitamin "C"
CAST ALL YOUR CARES UPON HIM, FOR HE
       CARES FOR YOU.   ( 1 PETER 5:7 )

       TO YOU.   ( JAMES 4:8 )

   When Empty, take vitamin "E"

THANKFUL TO HIM, AND BLESS HIS NAME.
       ( PSALM 100:4 )

   When Fearful, take vitamin "F"
FEAR NOT, FOR I AM WITH YOU, DO NOT BE
AFRAID, FOR I AM YOUR GOD.   ( ISAIAH 41:10 )

   When Greedy, take vitamin "G"
GIVE, AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU; GOOD
       MEASURE, PRESSED DOWN, SHAKEN TOGETHER,
AND RUNNING OVER WILL BE PUT INTO YOUR
LAP.  FOR WITH THE SAME MEASURE THAT YOU
USE, IT WILL BE MEASURED BACK TO YOU.
       (LUKE 6:38 )

   When Insecure, take vitamin "I"
I CAN DO ALL THING THROUGH HIM WHO
       STRENGTHENS ME.   ( PHILIPPIANS 4:13 )

OF THE AGE.   MATTHEW 28:20 )

   When Restless, take vitamin "R"

       HIM.   ( PSALM 37:7 )

   For Dessert
WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH
BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE!   ( JOHN 3:15 )

Now, it is my hope that you have enjoyed
this meal of Spiritual food.  Remember that you may have
all you want, for it is guaranteed to be non-fattening!

   In HIS Love & Service,
         Pastor Allen

Psalm 23 - the Psalm for everyday

Posted in From the Bible

      cutecolorsj2.gif

Let us see how this beautiful Psalm by David, actually
applies to us each and every day!

                                 PSALM 23

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD; I SHALL NOT WANT.

And God will meet all your needs according to His glorious
riches in Christ Jesus.  ( Philippians 4:19 )

HE MAKES ME TO LIE DOWN IN GREEN PASTURES,
HE LEADS MY BESIDE QUIET WATERS,

Whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear
a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."
   ( Isaiah 30:21 )

HE RESTORES MY SOUL.  HE GUIDES ME IN THE PATH
OF RIGHTEOUSNESS FOR HIS NAME'S SAKE.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.
   ( Psalm 119:105 )

EVEN THOUGH I WALK THROUGH THE VALLEY OF THE
SHADOW OF DEATH, I WILL FEAR NO EVIL, FOR YOU
ARE WITH ME; YOUR ROD AND YOUR STAFF THEY
   COMFORT ME.

When you pass through the waters, they will not sweep over
you.  When you walk through fire, you will not be burned; the
flames will not set you ablaze.
   ( Isaiah 43:2 )

YOU PREPARE A TABLE BEFORE ME IN THE
PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES.  YOU ANOINT MY HEAD
   WITH OIL; MY CUP OVERFLOWS.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in the spiritual realms with every
spiritual blessing in Christ.  For He chose us in Him before
the creation of the World to be holy and blameless in His
   sight.  ( Ephesians 1:3-4 )

SURELY GOODNESS AND LOVE WILL FOLLOW ME ALL
THE DAYS OF MY LIFE, AND I WILL DWELL IN THE
   HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER.

For God so loved the World that He gave His one and only
son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have
   eternal life.  ( John 3:16 )

I Know.......

Posted in From the Bible

God has promised us: "AS A MOTHER COMFORTS
HER CHILD, SO WILL I COMFORT YOU.  ( ISAIAH 66:13 )
Therefore never doubt, instead put all of your trust in Him.  The
following poem sums it up best.  I hope that you will enjoy it.

  I Know...

** I know He is the beginning, so why do I worry about the end?
** I know He is the creator, so why do I wonder who will destroy?
** I know He has forgiven me, so why can't I forgive myself?
** I know He is a healer, so why do I speak of sickness?
** I know He can do all things, so why do I say I can't?
** I know He will protect me, so why do I fear?
** I know He will supply all my needs, so why can't I wait?
** I know He is my strength and my salvation, so why do I feel weak?
** I know that everything and everyone has a season, so why when
someone's season is over do I weep instead of rejoice?
** I know He is the right way, so why do I go the wrong way?
** I know He is the light, so why do I choose to walk in darkness?
** I know that whatever I ask of GOD, GOD will give me,
so why am I scared to ask?
** I know tomorrow is not promised, so why do I put off
for tomorrow what I can do today?
** I know that the truth shall make me free, so
why do I continue to lie?
** I know He gives us revelation, knowledge and
understanding, so why do I lean on my own understanding?
** I know I should live in the spirit as well as walk in the spirit,
so why do I choose to live in the spirit but walk in the flesh?
** I know that when praises go up, blessings come down,
so why do I refuse to praise Him?
** I know I am saved, so why do I refuse the word He has given me?
** I know He has a plan for me, so why am I rushing it because
** I am eager to do His will, when it is His time not my time?

       Have a great weekend.
