Weekend Wrap-up
Friday was "get out of the house" day. Since I can't find a sitter for mom no place in town, and my dd is out of school looking for a full time job now, I put two and two together and she works for me now. I wish I could be having lunch with her in town instead of leaving her behind, but I think we're both OK with the situation for now. I just don't know what I'll do when she gets that full time job elsewhere, oh well, in the words of the great Miss Scarlet, "I won't think about today, I'll worry about that tomorrow"!
So Zach and I had a good day out and about Friday. We ate Chinese at our fav resturant, and both had a belly ache after. Not sure if we ate too much or the food made us ill. I'm willing to bet it was that we overate, as usual LOL. Did some shopping and spent too much money. Bought my mil a cute little plant with a tea cup planter, the cutest thing. I don't think she liked it too much, she didn't really say too much. Yep I have one of those kind of mils, again I won't worry about that today either, lol.
Saturday was spent piddling around the house and yard. Also had a crawfish boil at my daughter's house. I went for a few minutes, but couldn't stay too long cuz of mom being here alone. Thank goodness my dd only lives two houses down. I can run for a minute or two and not worry too too much about mom. But they did bring me a tray full of goodness to eat in front of the TV, and that is just what I did. When I have time, I watch the Lifetime channels, they have the best movies. Speaking of movies, I watched one last night that was really good. It was called "Saving Sarah Cane", good movie. Her Amish sister dies and leaves her with 5 Amish children to care for. Really good story.
Mother's Day was nice, saw all the kids from time to time. Thats the one thing I don't get too much of now that the two oldest have moved out, and that is all three in the same room for more than a minute or two. My eldest son Eric is always moving around. He is so hyper and never sits still for too long. He bought me a beautiful rose and two wooden wind chimes for the front porch. Just what I wanted, (I left clues and hints, lol). He was here long enough to eat a quick lunch and then he was out the door. My daughter Kristy made a favorite dessert of hers, an euclair cake. She got the recipe from Paula Deens site, oh its so sinfully good. That plus all the fried chicken and rice dressing that I cooked, made the day sweet and us full to the brim. My youngest son Zach decided that for his gift to me he would do all my chores for the day. Yeah well that lastest up untill about 9 am, then he was out the door, LOL. Oh well I guess it was the thought that counted. I watched TV all afternoon, which is something I never get to do, because everyone was off doing their own thing. So all and all it was and OK day here on the plantation.
Well I picked a bunch of blackberries from our bush out back, so I have a cobler to go cook, yummy good stuff. Have a great day everyone.
