A Diamond is a Piece of Coal That Stuck to Its Job
When He has tested me,
I shall come out like gold,
My foot has held fast to His steps.
Job 23:10-11
I was thinking of this following poem today, somewhere in the recesses of my heart. I had one of those awful, terrible, really horrible, bad days!! As I tried to recall the words I'd heard some time ago, I picked up this book off of my night stand, and wouldn't you know..here was the poem. I am copying it here for you to be encouraged.
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest! if you must-but never quit.
Life is queer, with its twists and turn,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out;
Stick to your task, though the pace seems slow-
You may succeed with one more blow.
Success is failure turned inside out-
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt-
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit-
It's when the things seem worst that
YOU MUSTN'T"T QUIT!
-Unknown-
If you quit today, you'll never know what is around the next bend.
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him
James 1:12
