Stolen bikes and Slushies

This morning my love was on his way to work when he phoned me very early (Praise God since he had been ill for almost a week and a half).  He asked me if two of our boys, Trenton and Daniel had loaned out their bikes before we left, perhaps let their cousins use them?  I responded "NO!  Why?"  Well, they were gone this morning when he left!

We have no idea when they were taken since Martin hadn't been out of the house in days.  We had left them outside the third garage until we got all of the other boxes in the main garage organized and put away.  What a disappointment that one of our first experiences in our new home had to be such a downer.  I know these things happen, but I feel really bad since we can't buy them new ones.  Trenton had a really nice 'Mongoose' that he had received as a gift a couple of years ago.  Their bikes are one of the few things that are just theirs. With eight other kids, they share bedrooms. beds, clothes, toys, (which is fine by the way), but I feel bad that this had to happen to them.  They were very gracious, and their siblings were very tenderhearted towards them.

Sunday, we had a great experience at my in-laws church..really like it.  Can't wait to find one back home...feels like it's been forever..but that's another story.  Anyhow, later that afternoon, the kids and I took part in two of our favorite things that we don't have in Montana. Big Lots (yes..we love this store) and Sonic..how we missed our slushies.

After shopping, dinner, and playing at the park, we all indulged in a treat from Sonic.  Everyone decided on a slushie except for T.J.  He had seen an ad on t.v. for a $.99 cent banana split.  After ordering, Trenton took the younger kids to the restroom, While he was gone our treats arrived.  Hailie, Daniel, and I just broke out into hysterical laughter, almost in tears when the waitress handed us Trenton's banana split.  He had missed the part of the commercial where it said JUNIOR banana split.  This thing was so small, it couldn't have been 1/4 of a banana in the three inch cup!  Hailie said what we were all thinking.."Oh, momma Trenton is going to be sooo mad.  That is SMALL!!"  Well, she was correct, Trenton was not happy about the little misunderstanding!  (But he ended up with a slushie that was made by accident..so all's well that ends well.)  So beware of creative advertising!!
