We arrived in Kenya late Sunday night then proceeded to wait over 2 hours to pay Duty and to if one of our pieces of luggage arrived. it didn't so we left. We went right to bed in our nice clean house (thanks to Virginia). We finally ventured out on Tuesday and , here comes the fat part, everybody who saw me proceeded to say how fat I was!!!! I have to admit it was a little hard to take, when I arrived at the primary school with all the kids and the headmaster telling me I was fat, Needless to say I am on a diet now!!! Anyway.... we are settling in well. The kids are happy to be back at school and Bruce and I start work on Monday. For now I am organizing , unpacking, etc. i feel confident that the issues that stressed me so much last time won't this time because I already putting into practice my resolves I made. i will tell you them only after I break one of them. i have seen most of my special people, but not all of them yet. More to come as the days go by
NOT FAT

I am glad you all arrived safe. I have been praying for your safety. Ok now about the issue of being FAT, you are not fat at all, you need not be on a diet
so cut that out. Well say hi to all and I can't wait to hear from you again.

Hi Ellen and Kinzer gang!
We're glad you made it back safely. And...you're not fat!! You're were on vacation and those few extra pounds don't count. Vacation calories aren't the same as everyday calories!
We miss you already. It was sure nice to have you "home" and to just bump into you like the old days. You guys are doing good work in Kenya. We miss you but we know that God's plan for your lives is being carried out and we are so happy about that.
The weather has truly taken a seasonal turn. It was 38 degrees this morning and I actually turned my heat on for a bit. The northwest corner of the state had the first frost. It sure is beautiful though driving around seeing all the vibrant colors. God is quite the artist!!
Peter is finishing up his Common Application this weekend. He is waiting for two more letters of recommendation. His teachers/advisors and coaches have been very kind. He has a personal resume and his essay to finish up then a review by his guidance counselor and off they go...I better get my checkbook ready I guess! He is only applying for Early Action right now. He is doing all this amid the mountains of homework he seems to get and his football schedule. He manages to squeeze sleep in there too. Aaron is sick with some sort of stomach bug. Today is the 8th day. He has missed three days of school. I spoke with his pediatrician and he put him on an 8 hour liquid diet and then a bland diet for three days. After that he expects him to be OK. I hope so. He is just like his father...a very impatient patient! Ty is Ty! He has decided he would rather play the drums than the trombone at school now. His music teacher made a deal with him..stick with the trombone and I will give you drum lessons any day you want to come in from 8:00-8:25 (I think she really needs the trombone in the band). He is quite happy with the deal. We will see how it goes. He is happy skating out on his hockey team. The last year he has been goalie quite a bit but, this year he is discovering a whole new game in skating out.
The capital campaign comes to a close on "Celebration Sunday" November 4th. (Or maybe you could say it begins Nov. 4th). We are going to have one service at 10am under a huge circus tent with sides and heaters. Lots of music and singing and celebration. Shawn is bringing his trailer for a stage under the tent. They are planning for like 580 people. It should be quite awesome to see our whole CFC family at once. Todd is planning lunch afterward. Something simple like sandwiches, chips and pastries. I am looking forward to it. I am coordinating nursery and Lori is coordinating Junior church.
Well, I should go get a few things done around here. That laundry won't just do itself I'm sure.
You guys take care of yourselves and say hi to everyone!
Love, Connie :)

Who doesn't gain a little weight when on vacation and splurging with good food that you just can find in Africa? Before long you'll be back to your skinny self! I love my beads...I think of you everytime I wear them. Glad you are back to blogging and keeping in touch!
