Living the mundane life God has called us to----- NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life is going on here well. I thought I would wait and write until something very interesting or exciting happened and then I'd have something interesting to read but I realized that is not real life here in Africa. Our lives are very routined but not dull. The same yet always different. As is life all over the world. Life is as good as you make it. There will always be challenges and lulls but we are to keep pressing on into the unknown. The benefits of long term missions is seen in our lives. Seeing people day after day watching them grow up or grow old!!! I find great pleasure is seeing my African friends make good, godly choices in their lives. Short term missions misses the day in day out of living out our faith. and I have to remember they are doing the same watching of me living it out day after day!! I have found great joy these lasts few days in my African friends. My kids call Fredrick , a fourth year Moffat student "uncle Fred" and he loves it. He grew up in an orphanage so to be called Uncle thrills him to no end. We have Timothy, another Moffat student visit every day and we all enjoy his visits. There is Phoebe , jotham and Wanjiku are neighbors. John , Beth and Mwangi and their father who always bring excitement with them. There is our friends at the Dukas, our friends at Little Lambs and Moffat and Kijabe Primary. Just today I did the mundane task of getting gas for the car (it is a 15 minute drive straight up the side of the valley. On the way Sadie and I talked and sang together, waved at our Kijabe primary studetns friends, gave some of them a lift up the hill (including our John) got the gas came back waved again then stopped to say hello to our friends at LL then I brought Sadie to her friends house, who lives at RVA . Visited with them then I went on to the Dukas (shops) and had chai with my friend at MAMA Shikos and discussed the world's problems with 2 kikuyus and a masaii . Now I am home and it's only 12:00!!! The rest of the day is full as well and I am looking forward to the potential it holds!!! Life is good if you choose to let it be where ever you live!!!! " I came to give life in all it's FULLNESS" Jesus

Hiya Ellen,

Just read your blog for today and loved it! Had to write and leave a comment. As I read, I was reminded of 2 Corinthians 5:20.."we are ambassadors for Christ". Just think about it...Ellen Kinzer and daughter, Sadie, Ambassadors for Christ!! Just doing the ordinary things that day, you were acting as His ambassador.....How absolutely wonderful!

Take good care now~~Sherrill
Of course, so are we all, but it is good to be reminded of that from time to time.
