The Good, the Bad, and the UGLY

Hi, Ellen... you are so right, that just describes how you share, and don't apologize! You do give it all, you don't hide your life under a bushel. You let us see it all, and that way your light shines out. I hope that doesn't sound insulting - but I like your honesty, and always have.
With regard to giving money away: John & I lived in Norwich in a "missions house" for a time after we were married, and I can understand the money thing. When people came to the door we tried to give them food (a sandwich) and friendship and a little bit of testimony instead, but they always wanted money for their light bill, or something like that. The need was there but we could not meet all of those needs. It is hard.
Sorry to be so post-less lately, feel like there's not too much to say and no good house photos to share. I'll have to get thinking dangerously. Sending love to you today - Chris

I have been reading your posts with much interest. I went to Kenya one year ago on a short-term mission trip and fell in love with the country. I can identify with the needs you are writing about, and I will pray that you all can find a balance. I still have a couple of people I met last year who will periodically email and ask for money. Mostly for "ministry" needs, but it's so hard to tell what the real need is without being there. Anyway, keep posting....your stories transport me back.
