It has been a long time since I've written so here is a few highlights. My students letters arrived from the US as i mentioned last time. It was sooooo exciting for the kids. I brought the church directory to show them who wrote to them and that made it even more special. I have grown so fond of those kids and of course i'm fond of those in Ct who wrote to them so it was a very special time for me. We had a visitor from the US here with us for a few days. he was here with a tour group and we were asked to house him. He was a wonderful addition to our family. his name was Elwood, he was in his 70's and was such a blessing to us. he is a bagger at Publix, he makes his own clothes, lived in haiti and was a hair stylist!! he did Lievis hair for multicultural day and Levi was a hit!!!! Speaking of multicultural day... it is anevent at RVA for all students to celebrate our homeland. Of course the USA shone bright as did SO. Korea. There are well over 100 Koreans at RVA (the face of missions is changing!!) so they celebrated Korean style. it was a fun day, although i has a terrible headache all day!!! On Saturday we took the kids to see "How to Eat Fried Worms". It was a great movie. Is it out on DVD there yet? Sunday we said goodbye to more friends leaving kenya then John , Beth and Mwangi came over. it was a good day and Beth finally saw "ADDY" her new doll. of course the first thing see did was braid her hair!! It has been a stressful time in our relationship so the day was a good thing!! Bruce said don't force anything either way and it will "play itself out" and i did and things seem good for now. i have been memorizing verses in Kikuyu. I know John 3:16 and I almost know Jerm. 29: 11. Today i told John's father in kikuyu that God has good plans for his family, plans of peace not of bad . I hope he beleives it because I do!!! I choose Jerm 29:11 because one day I was thinking about someone I know and thought to myself there is no future for them and God told me "I give people their hopes and futures not money not culture but ME!! So now I'm realizing the truth!! I have to run, just quick notes on the kids... kim is happy and enjoying choir alot!! Levi got all A's on his midterm report. Gavin got the part of Joseph in the Christmas play, Lydia is way to loud for us here at home but very queit at school. Sadie plays dolls 24/7 these days. Bruce is working hard on Little Lambs reorganizing and I'm back to cooking again since my cook quit. Life is soooo hard!!! : )

Busy!

Sound like you had a busy time and a satisfying one at that. God does provide doesn't He! Jer 29v11 is my favourite verse. It has carried me through a lot. Hold on to its promise!

I'm so sorry for Bruce. Please tell him that I said so! he he All he talked about was how great the cook was!

I was thinking about your little friends...I know it hurt you when they were swayed by "peer pressure" to keep away from you. But is that just part of the culture? Not something to be offended over? Like Bruce said, just be relaxed and continue to be "loving" and it will sort itself out.

Anyway, love you, my friend! Jennifer
