He is back!!!!

Posted on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at 07:54 - Post Comment

My husband is back!!! I guess we did ok without him here but I'm glad he is back!!! It is hard to be a single mother, and I REALLY wasn't a single mother!! anyway, things are coming back to normal. We had Bonaface and Margaret wedding this weekend. They are a young couple with a baby who have been "married" for a few years but bonaface felt called to do it right before God and the church so he worked hard to pay his wife's dowery then had a church wedding. we were proud of him and they are so in Love!!! We also know his brother and his nephew because they are students at Kijabe Primary. now they are a "honeymoon" with their baby in Nakuru. we treated them to this becuase it was fun for us to see how excited they were about it!! It is fun to give, isn't?!! Also, I'll quickly tell you my John, beth and Mwangi story. I noticed they were ignoring me, so I thought their father got mad at me because I wouldn't give him money. well the truth came out, they were ashamed to be seen with me!!! they said Naomi Wambui and Simon Ndirungu, and Mary Wangari were making fun of them becuase of me!! I was so hurt, I mean they let 3 punky kids come between us, so I told them I understand because I am white but they had to make a decision about me. we are still in a trial time. i will always love them but we will see about all this. But it all hurt me really bad..... We got all the stuff from the US.... I got butterscotch chips, reeses p-b cups(LOTS), CDs and ADDy doll from Terry for Phoebe and Beth to play with. it felt like christmas!!!! Thanks to all of you who brought for me!! we also got the letters from the church for the students . Thnaks to all of you who wrote them, Laura Gorman and sisters , and My Colleen who wrote to so many of them. as you know I have my favorites both here and there and My collen wrote to Eliud, a dear boy without parents. They will respond and I hope to make a video to send out to the youth group or maybe Sunday night?! The letters were so special to me. But the one that made me weep was on from a girl named Samantha Cordova from CFC (I don't think I know her) to MY John. She told him her mother died to so she understood the way he felt. I just feel like that was a God thing , that a girl with out a mother found a boy without a mother 1,000 of miles away!! Well that's it for now. It is night time here and it is time to sleep. Thnaks for all the nice things you said about me in your last comments. Bruce does alot here but he doesn't like to talk about himself so he talked about me. The Moffat students have been waiting for him as well as all our other friends and his neices!!!!

Hooray!

I am so glad you are reunited. It must have seemed like a long trip away for both of you.

It sounds like you have your trials over there; I will pray for you, this week, that you will have friendship and support from People with "kindred spirits" (as Anne of Green Gables would say).

I love ya! ha ha ha ha ha (That is Colleen laughing! She is telling me what to write!) I love her..... (that is her again) Laugh Laugh Laugh I miss her too (Colleen again).

Hey, did you ever open up those notes that everyone wrote for you guys when you left last year? I thought Colleen's notes were so typically "her".

You would NOT believe what a beauty she is becoming. I'll send a picture that she had Kelley take of her. She was wearing a SKIRT and had put her hair up...on the side....very beautiful!!!

She wants you to know that she wears her hair up all the time now!

Wow!

Now that's a lot of catching up.... the wedding sounds like a wonderful & joyous thing. The story about John & family is frustrating, though. Do they actually get picked on for hanging out with white folks? Now isn't that a twist? Glad Bruce made it back safely. Thinking of you lots - wishing the band could make a trip out there to play & fellowship with you guys. Ken was telling me you guys are due home next summer already for furlough - can that be? The time has flown, to me. Seems just around the corner (your furlough). Here's prayers for the work you guys continue to do in the upcoming months, especially with Little Lambs as Bruce is back home - and as always, sending love to all of you. -Chris

racism

Isn't racism the most hurtful thing? It is terrible when people pass judgement because you are different. I grew up in a home where color was not discussed until I was in high school and there were actually people of other races around. By then, it was too late. My mother's racist comments only infuriated me. God's love for all HIS people had already been sown in my heart. I thank God that he has sown that seed in the heart of your family as well. My prayers are with you all.
Love,
Connie
