Looking for a soap bubble recipe!!!
Posted on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 12:02 - Post Comment
I am looking for a soap bubble recipe . I can get corn syrup and dish soap but I don't know the proportions, so if you have one let me know!!! Someone asked me on my blog if we feel lonely out here. We don't becuase we are at a big mission station so we have a lot of American friends as well as kenyan friends. I know that my friend Linda who is in Mozambique is very lonely, and her homeschooled kids don't have any friends. People who "not of the way" are very distant and untrustworthy so it is VERY difficult for those missionaries. they fight off discouragment daily. But God's grace is sufficient for them (and me). Got to run but I wanted to "check in" on my blog. I haven't had any "exciting" adventure lately but I'm sure one is aroung the corner!! This is Africa , so something exciting WILL happen!!!

World's Best Bubbles....recipe

Hi. I just copied this the other day from a book I checked out from the library, going to homeschool my son this year so gathering up some materials to use.
I hope this will work out for ya.
Bubbles
2 1/2 Qts. water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 cup liquid dish detergent
Mix water and corn syrup together until completely blended. Gently stir in the liquid dish detergent. Will store for several weeks in an airtight container.
Ideas:
Add a little color to your bubbles by stirring in a few drops of food coloring.
Create bubbles in many different sizes by dipping various items such as a plastic strawberry basket or wire whisk into the bubble solution.

Hi, Ellen! Thanks for leaving me a note on my blog page.... my friend at work was wondering about the deworming thing. These kids get it from the foods eaten there? Can it be passed on to another kid when they play together or share food or something? ALSO: I wondered, How do you pasteurize your own milk - do you have to boil it or something? I think it's all very interesting. Very homestead like! Love hearing from you regularly, too - so keep it up here. It's a fine lesson to share with the kids - how to adapt to another culture. Sending love today - Chris
Missing you all

Hi Ellen,
It is so nice to be able to read about what is happening with your life in Africa. You are in my thoughts and prayers often. May God continue to bless and keep you.

I graduated from sixth grade to middle school. I am now 12 years old. How old are you and what grade are you in and have you made any friends? I have two friends and their names are Jordan and Nick. I hope you are having a good time.
