Yesterday we took everything out of our boy's painfully small bedroom. Every single thing. I proceeded to spackle every hole in the wall, and that took me about an hour because my twelve year old did a great job of poking holes in the sheetrock. Once the spackle was dry I wallpapered two of the walls with a pattern called red ticking, like the old pillows? Its a beige paper with thin red stripes. Very nice looking but I cannot imagine having it on all four walls. Instead, we are going to paint the other two walls a denim blue and then use the leftover wallpaper in picture frames on those walls. I think it will look really nice. I have to replace the flooring because of a leak in the bathroom next door, thankfully we found that and it can now be fixed. The boys had bunk beds in their room and I asked my husband to take the lumber he used for them and redesign the beds making them a bit taller so the boys can put storage tubs underneath their beds, sort of like captains beds. Their closet, which they never use, LOL, is going to have removable shelving on it for their TV and video games and accessories. I am hoping to have the bottom two shelves filled with their books. One of my sons is seriously into rocks and minerals.
Other things I have been doing are: sewing for Morgan's skirts. She wanted several and now they just need to be hemmed. She asked me to make her some vests to match so I am going to make a pattern for a simple vest and make those up very soon. I bought some sweatshirt fabric at walmart for 1$ a yard and am going to make matching nightgowns for Morgan and Hannah. Hannah, at three years old, her waist measurement is one inch less than Morgan, who is six. Morgan is willowy, and Hannah is stocky, not fat, just solid.
