Hello!

Well Hello!  Welcome to my homestead blog. I used to have a homeschool blog but I talked more about what was going on at our place than our homeschooling, so I figured I better switch over!

I am interested in all aspects of homesteading.  I love to cook and I plan to can most of the bounty from our enormous garden this year.  Every penny will definitely count for us this year, as my husband is recovering from surgery last week and will be out of work for the next five plus weeks.  I am learning new ways to keep the expenses down, way down.  Its definitely a full time job with our family of seven.

I am a full time stay at home mom, wife to Ken, who is the love of my life.  We have just recently celebrated nineteen years of marriage and we are going on a cruise in June - okay yes this is ironic only because we planned this trip long before we knew that Ken was having surgery and would be out of work... and it is non - refundable.  It will however be a really bright spot during this recovery time.  I keep saying that Ken's recovery is six weeks, our family's recovery will be a bit longer than that financially.  We can do this, it is not the first nor the last probably that we will face financial uncertainty.  Our faith in the Lord to provide is certain.

I was a single, working Mom as my children were growing up. And, can't even begin to tell the times that God provided, even when I was not faithful to Him.
So, I can witness first-hand that God is Faithful.
Blessings on your family as you are faithful to Him.
And, do enjoy this cruise as a special gift from Him.
I certainly had a number of those - completely unexpected surprises along the way.
And a speady recovery for your husband.

I just recently quit a part-time job to finsih off homeschooling (the two just didn't mix), so I know how tight things can be.

Best wishes with your frugal endeavors and I'll keep my eyes peeled for helpful tips.

Enjoy every minute of that cruise, too!
