• Jun. 12, 2007 - Out of the Ashes

It has been five days since my chickens raided my garden.  They are now in a secure coop!  PTL!  I replanted my corn, cucumbers and green beans and they are starting to poke through the ground, I also have some calendula coming up too.  I now have basil, rosemary, mint and echinacea transplanted into my herb garden and Emily's watermelon plant is doing great.  We still have 30 tomato plants and some look like they are ready to blossom.  I saw some pickling cucumbers at Walmart that I might buy and transplant as well....so my little garden is coming along and Lord willing we will have a bountiful crop this year.

That is wonderful you garden is growing again. Reminds me of that verse in Gen. (8:22) As long as the earth remains seedtime and harvest, cold & heat, and summer and winter, and day & night shall not cease. Jill

Sorry to hear what the chickens did to your garden! I'm happy to hear it's on the mend now. : )

I'm glad you got everything replanted, I know it can be quite frustrating when something happens to all our hard work. All is clicking right along here, we've been busy with many little things and will find time to post soon. How is the pregnancy going? How was the camping trip? I hope you had an air mattress, if not you are a tougher woman than I.

I'm sorry to hear about your recent raid, but happy to see that you jumped back and are back in the game! Enjoy the fruits of your labor (and eggs!).

Hooray for replanting!

I have the garden, our city doesn't allow chickens. Just cats that roam and try to do their thing in every bit of bare earth!

I had to replant all of my corn this spring, frost got it. :( My second planting is doing good, though!
