• May. 1, 2007 - Carbohydrates & Injured Chicken Update
I came across this Healthy Kids website and they had an article on carbohydrates, so I figured I would read what it had to say. I thought it was very well balanced and would pass on the link.

INJURED CHICKEN UPDATE:
Dandy (the injured chicken) is doing great, she laid two eggs, this week, one w/o a shell and today with a shell, and has now extended her life expectancy. . She is using her injured foot to help keep her balanced now instead of her wing and is able to put a little weight on it. She is with the flock when they are free ranging, but we keep her out of the coop, where she is more likely to be easily noticed and cornered. When she is able to more more weight on her foot, then I think we will put her in with the others because she should be able to defend herself by then. They dont really pick on her now, unless they are eating and she tries to join them, or every great once in a while one of them starts feeling ornery! |
