• Mar. 27, 2007 - Gardens & Sickness & Midwife appointment
Well today, I finally did it. It went from being in the 50's to 80 today! So I started getting my garden ready, I know I am a bit late....we have been fighting sickness & crazy weather.
I mixed together some compost and regular soil. I started some tomato seeds, dill, chamomile...and garlic (I know I should have done that in the fall, but I had some garlic sprouting in my pantry, so I decided to give it a go! ). I need to get my beds ready to plant...and hubby needs to secure the chicken coop, so the chickens dont eat my plants. We have been letting them free range all over our back yard this winter.
I had my first midwife appointment yesterday (I know..about time). I was measuring a little big and after having to chase the little one all over finally heard a heartbeat!
Please pray for us as the cold/flu have been going through our family (my girls also had upset stomachs). This has been going on for a week now. I am trying what I have on hand, since I am unable to make it to the store. I have been making rose hip & elderberry teas, chamomile tea, honey & Lemon tea. I have been eating raw garlic (Need to figure out a way to get it into my children) We have not been this sick (except for a stomach virus at Christmas) since I have made some major changes in our diets. I want to pick up some echnacea and give it a try, but we need lots of prayer, we seem to be having a hard time shaking this thing...everytime I think we are getting better, somebody either gets it or gets worse again.
Thanks

Something to be grateful for, at least you are not dealing with morning (...afternoon...evening...) sickness on top of the viruses. THAT would be awful!
I hope your garden goes well and you all can rejoice in the beautiful spring days you're having.
