• Feb. 20, 2006 - A Testimony of God's Provision
Last fall my husband lost his job and decided to start his own
business. Combine that we trying to get out of debt and paying a double
mortagage and utilities for almost a year while we lived up in New
York....you can say that things have been pretty tight in the
least. My pride would not usually allow me to expose these kind
of circumstances except that I want to testify to God's faithfulness
through them.
During these lean times, there has
been a particular verse that I have relied on. It is Psalm 37:25
"I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous
forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."
This past week things have been even tighter due to that fact that we
are waiting for payment on a couple of jobs that my husband has done.
Today, I was down to our last few dollars and was desparately in
need of groceries so I prayed that God would show me what I was to buy
and provide for us. I didnt have time to make bread this morning, but
was determined not to buy any. I headed off to Aldi with my list
and bought the items that I needed to make the next few days meals (no
bread). I had to decided between cheese or peanut butter
for sandwhiches, but finally settled on the cheese as I prefer to get
the Natural Peanut Butter from our health food store. 5
minutes after I arrived home, my doorbell rang. There was my next
door neighbor with a bagful of groceries. In it were 3 loaves of
bread and 3 jars of peanut butter as well as a few other things.
This is more than what I needed to just help me out with the lunch
portion of our menus until I can buy groceries probably at the end of
this week. My daugher started yelling "Thank you, Jesus". I think
she was glad that is wasnt the natural peanut butter.

• Feb. 20, 2006 - Answered Prayers
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
Thanks for the remind of his faithfullness in our lives!
