• Feb. 20, 2006 - A Testimony of God's Provision

Last fall my husband lost his job and decided to start his own business. Combine that we trying to get out of debt and paying a double mortagage and utilities for almost a year while we lived up in New York....you can say that things have been pretty tight in the least.  My pride would not usually allow me to expose these kind of circumstances except that I want to testify to God's faithfulness through them.

During these lean times, there has been a particular verse that I have relied on.  It is Psalm 37:25 "I have been young, and [now] am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."

This past week things have been even tighter due to that fact that we are waiting for payment on a couple of jobs that my husband has done. Today,  I was down to our last few dollars and was desparately in need of groceries so I prayed that God would show me what I was to buy and provide for us. I didnt have time to make bread this morning, but was determined not to buy any.  I headed off to Aldi with my list and bought the items that I needed to make the next few days meals (no bread).   I had to decided between cheese or peanut butter for sandwhiches, but finally settled on the cheese as I prefer to get the Natural Peanut Butter from our health food store.   5 minutes after I arrived home, my doorbell rang.  There was my next door neighbor with a bagful of groceries.  In it were 3 loaves of bread and 3 jars of peanut butter as well as a few other things.  This is more than what I needed to just help me out with the lunch portion of our menus until I can buy groceries probably at the end of this week. My daugher started yelling "Thank you, Jesus".  I think she was glad that is wasnt the natural peanut butter.

While reading this it brought to mind Matthew 6: 25-31
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

Thanks for the remind of his faithfullness in our lives!

I buy the roasted unsalted peanuts at Aldis and make my own peanut butter. I realize they aren't organic, but since I have a hard time finding organic things, this is the next best thing I can do. It's very simple as well and cheaper than what I see in the regular stores. It's not as cheap as Aldi peanut butter, but I also know what's (not) in it.;) I just put the peanuts in my food processor and let it do all the work.......takes a few minutes (I'm not the world's most patient person), but it does evenutally turn into peanut butter!

When I came home last year, when Mom was dying, we didn't make enough together to meet our needs with out our MK, then suddenly we were making $40K less! God kept saying "come home" and I did come after my husband said "Now"....within 24 hours when I was really angry with God, after all, I had been obedient, we had tithed, when was HE going to take up the slack, 24 hours mind you.....my Dh had another job that paid enough for me to make the bills, barely, with NOTHING left over for living, but this last year we have thrived, and lived on a much higher level of faith and happiness than before....and slowly I realize that this step in faith has been a necessary part of my maturing....and preparation for the next steps of my husbands future ministry....every day I learn though and I can so relate to the grocery choice and waiting on payment...so I am here with you...and can't wait to know you better!

How great is our God. He is definitely worthy of our praise. We have also had this happen and believe me I know the feeling of thanks and praise it can bring. Thank you Jesus,
Andrea

This is just so awesome!!! I love to hear praise reports like that. And I can't count the number of times I've been there. Your background and graphics are just so pretty. You do so good on all this computer stuff. :-)

For it blesses us so to see how God is blessing others and reminds us that He has everything which pertains to us under His control. I've been recipient and deliverer of grocery angel bags. One time I received an angel delivery that even included toilet paper and sanitary items for me, bath soap, and toothpast as well as food. These were all items that I just did not know how I could afford to buy that week and needed ever so badly. God doesn't always come thru well in advance, and many times it's been right down to the wire but HE IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL AND ALWAYS COMES THRU FOR US. Those times of down to the wire were for my benefit, to stretch my faith and increase my thankfulness.
God's Blessings to you and yours!

I was married to the children's dad for 18 years. I loved him very dearly, but he was not a good man. He did not provide for us, nor was he kind to us. Many times had it not been for God sending food to our door we would have been hungry. Since our divorce in 1986 he has given his heart to God and become a different man. The girls and I never gave up praying for him. God answered those prayers.

I have been married to my dear sweet Doug for 18 years now. He is a wonderful provider and a blessing.

God has been so good to us. ^..^
