Urban Pioneer

• Feb. 12, 2006 - Today so far & update

I am so creative with my titles, that it astonishes me.  (Do you hear the sarcasm in my tone)  :)  Well the same story is here that is for the rest of the east coast....SNOW!  We have almost 18 inches and I think it has finally stopped.  Church has been postponed until 3pm and I wouldnt be surprised if that is cancelled.  Not sure if we will make it since it is smack dab in the middle of nap time, but maybe hubby will, if he decides to stop playing the hibernating bear this morning.  I told the littles they could go outside when daddy goes to shovel.  I am just now seeing people moving around.

Zachary is 4 today and is enjoying the special attention.  We wrapped his presents while he was playing upstairs in his room.  We had gotten him a couple of videos since he does not need toys or clothes.  I searched high and low (Ok so I only looked at Walmart) for the "Land Before Time" DVD original movie, but didnt find it, so ended up getting him Thomas the Tank engine video.  Friday when we went to Zern's (a indoor flea market) I found a used copy of the Land Before Time for 4.00 (my dollar sign on my keyboard doesnt work) so I picked it up. I also got him one of those wooden snakes...a king cobra..  I made him a chocolate cake, as requested with chocolate homemade frosting.  I then mixed some green food coloring with coconut for green grass. and placed the little dinosaurs I bought yesterday on it.  I think he will be surpised.

Thats all for now.

Update:  Ok, so I asked my hubby if he could shovel off the grill and light it for me and he told me it wasnt on "his to do list".  So I grabbed my boots and took some snow for ice cream later (see recipe) and lit the grill.  Yes, I am one of those insane people who believe that grilling is just for summer.  So what's a little cold and snow.  I just wish my grill was right outside my door, like up in NY, instead a few yards away.  :0 )  My hubby soon saw that I was serious and when I went inside shoveled a little path to the grill.  Isn't he a dear?  :)
