I finally decided what I was going to have for dinner so now I spend a
little more time at the computer. In case your interested we are
going to have breaded chicken breasts (I bought them at Aldi' but didnt
realize these were breaded), homemade mashed potatoes, I guess I will
need to make gravy for hubby, but I love them just with butter, raw
garlic, salt and milk! I will only put garlic in mine since hubby
likes his plain (with gravy) and some steamed broccoli (not in the
mashed potatoes ) . Anyhoo!
I went to Echo Hill my natural foods store and bought some more grains
to experiment with, like spelt, kamut, oats, brown rice etc...now I
need to find a good cookbook that will help with that. Anyone
know of one?
Another thing I have been checking out lately is "Natural Cleaning",
making your own cleaners, soaps, toothpaste etc at home. I came
across a couple of good books called " The naturally clean home: 101 safe and easy herbal formulas for nontoxic cleaners" by Karen Siegel-Maier and
Clean naturally: recipes for body, home and spirit by Sandy Maine.
For making soaps from other soaps here is a good book:
Natural soapmaking by Marie Browning.
I have bought for some new essential oils for these but need to find a
good source for castile soap, sodium hydroxide (I think I know where I
can get this) and vegetable glycerin. I checked for the glycerin
at Michaels, but they only had glycerine soap at outrageous prices and
I asked at my Walmart pharmacy but the lady there told me that they
have had any in lately.
My 3rd child...Zachary is going to be 4 on Sunday and we are planning
his birthday. He is very much into dinosaurs and lately I have
been getting the "Land Before Time" videos from the library for
him. I tried to find the original one on DVD at Walmart but they
didnt have it, I may have one more go at Suncoast Video in the
mall. I am thinking of making a dinosaur cake or at least making
a cake with green coconut for grass and sticking one of his plastic
dinosaurs on the cake. Since we have been on a whole wheat flour
thing lately my daughter asked if I was going to make the cake with
whole wheat flour. I thought that was pretty funny, guess I will
have to go out and by some unbleached flour! Thankfully the bd
boy wants chocolate cake my favorite!
Well thats about all for now! Have a great day!

I have a great suggestion for a book for the grains your going to try, www.grainsoftruth.com I borrowed a friends book about a year ago, and realized quickly I would need my own, I finally got it this week.
It is GREAT! Donna tells you about the history of each grain, nurtitional information, cooking suggestions, and recipes. 5 thumbs up.
Natural Soapmaking books, I have! My friend Jennifer and I used it when we made soap...Pretty pictures!
Happy Birthday Zachary! 4 Is such a fun age!
