• Feb. 4, 2006 - Tips for getting rid of the common cold
Here are some good natural tips for helping you get over the common:
Eat lots of garlic! (raw is best, but hardest to handle. :) O
Cayenne Pepper
Ginger.
Make a tea of the above 3 ingredients and sip throughout the day (thats about all you will be able to do with it).
Since I dont really like the above mentioned tea, I will make a
chili with lots of garlic and cayenne pepper. Helps clear up
those sinuses and boosts the immune system.
Peppermint is a great decongestant and can be taken internally through a tea or inhaled!
Licorice Tea tastes yummy and is good for cough and cold.
Other herbal teas that are also good are:
sage
rose hips
elderflower!
Cut out the sugar. Sugar absorbs nutrients from your body and
lowers your immune system making you more susceptible to colds and
harder for your body to fight them.
Cut out pasteurized milk and dairy products as this causes you to become more congested.
Hydrogen Peroxide is good for getting the germs in your ears (put
on a cotton swap, or take a little bit and dribble it in your ear, it
will be a little cold and start bubbling) wait about a minute and drain
it out. Dilute it with water and make a mouthwash. Clean
your toothbrush with Hyrodgen Peroxide also!
Eat less, drink more (water and teas) as this helps get to the problem faster.
What are your favorite antedotes for the common cold?
