• Jan. 19, 2006 - Now I lay me down to sleep...
Bedtime prayers have always been part of our routing in our household,
but I noticed that the little rhyme...even though it was original was
not enough, especially for my seven and five year old. We decided
to change this to a mini family prayer meeting. Instead of each
individual child singing their little rhyme, we now have prayer
requests...and of course prayer. So far this has really turned
out well. I find that the children are thinking of others as well
as some original prayer requests..such as "Dont let us near the
rattlesnakes" from my almost 4 yo ds. I have great hope in the
future that the "Family that prays together, stays together" and while
it take a lot more thank prayer (it also takes commitment to the Lord
and each other, love, communication etc),...prayer is definitely a good
place to begin and end the day. (as well of course as many times in
between)

• Jan. 19, 2006 - Prayer
Often times at our old house we would see wrecks, once we were waiting at a light and saw a car chase, anyway the kids started praying for the cops safety and that they would catch the person running and noone would get hurt. We've also prayed right there in the car for firefighters working wrecks and victims...
All that to say, the little prayers at home evolved into prayers outside the home.
