• Jan. 18, 2006 - Cat and Mouse
I was sitting here at the computer checking out some of the more recent
blogs, when I heard a mouse overhead. My husband and 3 oldest were at
church and it was just me and my 2 yo son. I went back to what I was
doing, trying to tune out the mouse noises that were now coming from
the kitchen., I did think "I cant believe our cat hasnt caught this
mouse yet... It has been about 2 1/2 months since its last mouse
(although it wasnt here for 2 weeks during Christmas)." My 2yo
son must have gotten tired of watching "Anne of Green Gables" and went
into the kitchen. He came back running to me going "Mommy, Mouse"
(although it sounded more like "mouf". So I went to the kitchen and
there was the cat with a mouse...still alive...playing cat and mouse
and cats do....under my kitchen table. UGGH. I am glad it
is finally caught, although I do feel sorry that they are tortured so,
and they are sort of cute, in a nasty sort of way. I just hope my
daughter doesnt find that this one like she did the last one, when she
pulled out her chair to sit down for breakfast. EEWWWW. The
cat likes to sit on her chair under the table, but is very good about
not going on the table. So the saga is to be continued, but I
think we all know the ending. It makes me feel more homesteader
like having mice! :) This is not my cat, but very close...my cat has brown eyes which is pretty unusual and her name is Marble!

• Jan. 18, 2006 - Mice?
When the mousetrap catches a mouse (less now that Lil is here - blessed cat!), I take a peek, shut the door and say "NORM!!!"
Hope your cat continues to deal with the mice, but wouldn't it be nice to do it outside?
