• Jan. 13, 2006 - Eating Healthy rant

I think I have been doing a little to much research in the area of health.  After reading "What the Bible says about Healthy Living" by Dr. Rex Russell,  I decided to cut out pork and hope to get my own grain mill so I can make fresh, healthy, living breads.   After reading "Sugar Blues" by William Dufty..I believe sugar is poison and should be eliminated from mine and my family's diet...hello raw honey!  After reading "The Milk of Human Kindness is Not Pastuerized" by Dr. William Douglas, there is no way I ever again want to buy store bought milk and this includes dry milk.  Thankfully this is one change I had already made and I am able to get milk fresh from the farm, but it deepened my conviction about it.

It seems like everything that has been done to improve food has actually hurt it and trying to find whole, unsprayed foods close to their natural form is near impossible and expensive.  I can do some of this on my own very small plot of land, but if I want to implement everything I learned, I either need my own land (acres) or hunt down somebody who does and is willing to sell to me without charging an arm and a leg (I know they need to cover their expenses, so I am not blaming them for the cost, but when things are tight)  When I do find a place I have to travel miles...with four small children.

It seems like there is a plot of the government to keep us sick so they can have control...I know I am starting to sound paranoid, but the more I research this, the more this seems to be confirmed.  I am sorry that I am not able to express myself better...but this is after all just a ran...sorry it is not uplifiting, but now that it is out...I can go on and try and do something about it..  Have a good day everyone....and keep fighting the good fight!  YEAH Homesteaders.

It is amazing when your eyes are opened to what is really healthy for the human body, isn't it? I have read (and own) many of the books you have listed on your blog. The message really is the less processed and messed with our food is, the better it is for us. I have found though, at times, it is very hard to put into practice what I have learned. All that knowledge can sometimes leave me feeling overwhelmed! lol I do believe, without doubt, the struggle to change is worth it!! :)
