• Jan. 6, 2006 - 10 Things I can do to be self-sufficient
I saw this idea over on Simple Pleasure's blog and thought it was a great idea! 10 little things I can do now to be self-sufficient (although I like to think of it as God being sufficient, not me). 1. Grow my own vegetables (and some fruit) 2. Have a rain barrel 3. Cook from Scratch 4. Sew my own curtains (mend my own clothes), and crochet 5. Compost 6. Make my own butter, cheese, kefir and other dairy products 7. My husband does all of our home repairs & maintenance 8. My husband does most of the repairs on our vehicle 9. Dry clothes on the laundry line 10. Preserve our food through canning and dehydration Things I would like to do in the future (without moving): 1. Keep Chickens 2. Keep Bees

• Jan. 6, 2006 - Miss Kay!
Did you grow up learning how to do all the things you do in your list? Everything I am doing now that is more 'natural' I have learned in the past five years. Like handmade soap making and making bread, etc.
Hugs! ~Robin :)
