I want to start a list of things I'm thankful for. I had been wanting to do this for a while and just saw where someone else did it and it was so cute! It was the ABC's of thankfulness (or thanksgiving). Anyway, I can't do it as cute and clever as that, but, here it goes:
I'M THANKFUL FOR:
- Our house. It's bigger than I ever thought I'd have. It's where we'll stay until we die. I hope to have our sons-in-law and daughter-in-law here someday as well as grandkids.
- Our health. While we aren't the healthiest eaters (but we do exercise), I'm thankful that we don't have any serious illnesses (Johnny has high blood pressure) or that our children weren't born with serious illnesses.
- Our church. It's a church that wants to lead people to the Lord, not just get bigger for getting bigger's sake. (Is that grammatically correct?)
- Our parents. Even though Johnny's dad passed away 8 years ago, we're thankful that his mom and my parents are always there. Either to babysit, fix something or get advice from, we're thankful for them and don't want to think about what it will be like when they're gone.
- The schools our children attend. So far, we've loved their teachers and there hasn't been any problems with friends.
- My job as a piano teacher. Well, compared to some other pianists, I'm not really all that good, but I absolutely love my job.
- My first minister of music who allowed me to play the piano for church and accompany choirs. That's what made me a better pianist.
- My job in high school as a flower delivery girl. I know the streets of our city very well because of this. It also taught me how to drive better and to parallel park. (Well, my dad actually taught me the "trick" to this.)
- My dad's talent to fix things. He taught me so much and I have his knack for fixing things. Although I can't do half as many things as he can, I do have the desire and ambition to try it.
- The location of our house. We're at the end of a cul-de-sac and our back yard backs up to the Greenways (14 acres of walking track and disc golf) and the elementary school.
- My experience with La Leche League. It taught me to practice "attachment parenting". While I don't do it the way some people do it, I do it the best way I can.
I hope you enjoyed reading that! I might add more sometime when I have time.
