Well, I've been busy using a slow computer and haven't written here. We're getting the heat in the van fixed today, so I'll be w/o a vehicle tonight. I was going to go to a meeting at City Hall (I think) for neighborhood leaders. Johnny is going to something at church and M&L will be here by themselves, so I guess I won't go. I wanted to, but need to stay w/them to keep order, not to mention bath, shower, homework, etc. My mom had back surgery 2 weeks ago tomorrow and still has nerve ending pain in her bottom. The back pain is gone, but she has this and it's worse than the back pain was. I don't know when it will end. She's on a pain reliever, muscle relaxer and now a medicine to "heal the nerve endings". I thought that one would knock it right out, but she says the pain is the same. A few hours after surgery she was walking pain-free! We're all praying this nerve ending pain will end because she'll be a new person! Well, a 73 year old new person. I'm making a new website that will be cute, have my house, have my piano studio on it and include a blog that I won't mind people I know personally to read. Last week during Molly's dance class, I took the laptop and typed my "observations" to go in the blog. When I get updated pix of the house and piano studio on it I'll cut and paste a different "observation" in the blog each day. You may notice that I have a new song on here. I wanted "God With Us" but they only had the first 30 seconds available. Maybe later they'll have the whole song. It's raining today and it's supposed to rain all day. But it is 50 degrees, so that makes it easier to get in and out of the car and stores this morning. I'm going to Royal Music, Walgreens, Wal-mart and to get the mail. The neighborhood's newsletter is in there and I want to read it! |

Well, it's pretty cold today, but the sun is shining bright! I made a Coca-Cola cake this morning and FORGOT to put the eggs in! I had EVERYTHING already measured and in their little cups/containers, just like they do on t.v.! It was in the oven and I was making the icing and saw it sitting there on the counter! We're taking it to someone's house tonight, so we'll see what it tastes like. It starting sinking in the middle after I took it out. I also made the icing too early and it had to sit for about 10 minutes before I could "drizzle" it on. There wasn't much "drizzling", but it's on there! I looked on the internet for what would happen if you didn't put eggs in a cake. Some places said it would taste awful, some said there would be no taste difference, some said it would be dry, some said it would be liquid-y. So .... we'll see! As if I have nothing to do, I made a "web page" for our cat on catster.com. One would think I don't have housework or sewing to do! It isn't fancy, but it's cute. I think there's a link on here for it. You know those games at amusement parks where there are a BUNCH of glasses all sitting next to each other, touching each other, and there are a few that are colored, and if you throw a ball into the ones that are colored, you win some fantastic prize? Well, I'm making one from the other wooden box/platform that we made in 4-H a few years ago. If you'll remember, I used one of them for my light box (to trace patterns). Everytime we're at an amusement park and we each play 1 of those games, I say to myself, "I could make that thing at home and practice on it, come back here and get a bunch of prizes!" Well, by golly, that's what I'm-a-gonna do! Well, the kids will probably play it, AND we can use it at church and school for carnivals and things. I need to also make one where there are bottles and you throw a ring at it, trying to "ring its neck". I've gotten all the Microsoft Works documents transferred to Word documents. Now I have to get all my pictures sent to Wal-Mart. Then, we should be able to see if there's anything left on that hard drive to save and then clone the new hard drive. |
