• Wednesday, September 20, 2006 - chicken question - hens eating eggs

 Duh One of my hens waits for the others to lay their eggs, then eats them!  Has this happened to anyone else?  If so, how did you handle it.

Yes I've had it happen before. Normally it's a calcium deficiency. If you add oyster shell to there diet it should stop. You can also dry your egg shells and crush them instead. I've found if you let it go to long it becomes a strong habit that wont stop even after the diet is fixed.
