I got 11 new hens yesterday afternoon. They are over a year old and have been averaging 9-11 eggs daily. They seemed to adapt to thier new coup and run very quickly. I didn't expect to see any eggs this morning in the nesting box because of the stress of the move, but there was one. later on one hen started to act very strange. She was squacking and panting and running around with her wings all up. She kept flying out of the run and trying to come in the house. Everytime I put her back in the coup she would go into the nesting box and scratch like crazy. I finally got tired of her getting out, so I put her in the coup and shut the door. I went out a few hours later and she had layed an egg and is acting normal now. The egg looked strange - like the end was wrinkled, but the shell was hard. Oh well. Anyway, here are the pic's




I'm no expert, but it looks to me like there are six rhode island reds, two golden buffs, two barred rocks and one leghorn.
