First off, I know I'm blessed in all I have and can do, but only by the grace of God. I also know that I'm human. I NEED to vent every once in a while as I feel I'm going to blow up inside. I am only posting this here as I think only you all would understand my venting. I have no one in person to vent to as I have to be strong and have it all together for my family and friends. I'm not looking for a pity party, just venting.
This farm use to be run by 5 1/2 people, and now 1, 1/2, 1/3 people run it. It at times is very overwhelming to me. And it's hard to keep up with everything and everyone. I am tired of milking twice a day, making sure everyone is water and fed, house work, calling doctors, finding new way to stretch a dollar I have ready stretch until it has stopped yelling, a loaf of store bought bread looks like gold( yes, I can make bread daily but it takes time which I'm very low on right now), I'm tired of canning( but I would not eat store can food, so I can), I'm tired of making do, just to get through an other day, I'm tired of making so many things from scratch( not that the store bought stuff is any good),and so much more.
I really use to love doing these things, but now I'm doing them all in one day. And I will keep doing them until the Lord calls me home. I am just really tired and very overwhelmed today. Thank you for letting me vent, just getting from my chest helps. The Lord keeps me goingfrom day to day, and for that I thank Him. And I thank Him for all of you and this site, both have been a great blessing to me. Now that I feel a little lighter, I better get this day under way. Again thanks for leting me vent.

I am so glad you felt you could vent. Sometimes when you are in the situation you are in there is no one to tell. You have every reason to be tired and overwhelmed. I am so glad that you have a good relationship with God. I have often wondered what people do who don't believe in God when they go through trying times. I will pray today that you will receive a new strength and encouragement from God. I will pray that you will like all these homesteading things again. It makes it much easier to do. It is ok that you don't like it right now and it is ok to say that. I hope you have a much better day!

Hi Becky! I'm going to offer you a few words of wisdom from an old person who has "been there, done that"....It's time to stop killing yourself trying to do it all. If the other 4 1/2 people won't help you run the farm anymore then you stop too! It's time to cut back in what ever area is taking the most of your time (Sounds like it might be the milking and keeping all the animals fed and watered.) and do only what truly makes you happy. Life is to short and if you continue on the road your on now your going to find that out! Keep praying and know your limits! Hugs, Sher

Becky, that was a healthy vent, we keepers of the home gotta do that sometimes.
I remember when the kids where all home and sometimes I felt we all were not on the same page at times and that what I was doing was all in vain. But I knew what I had to do to make the homestead work.
I feel its a calling for some of us, food storage, gardening, raising are own animals , becoming more selfsufficient, etc. Given to those that will do the job.
As I'm older now theres still so much to do , but I know I can't do it all in one day, so its not so pressing to have everything perfect. I'm enjoying the homestead more then ever by letting go.
Sometimes our very own family that we love does not see the things in a homestead way. But your planting seeds and they will see one day.
Know this too that you inspire people, through those that see you working and loving what you do, those that read your blogs. Your planting seeds and they will grow. You know where the strenth comes from and He is there all the time when you need it.
You take good care , look at your homestead and what you have done and say WOW, God is good
Thank you for the hay /straw info. : )
