Green Beans

Today my friend and I put up 45 lbs. of green beans and another 15 are waiting for us tomorrow morning.  I have not canned using a pressure cooker so we did it together.  I have only used a water bath canner.  It wasn't hard but you have to do it right or I suppose you could blow up the house - or something at least.  It was so much more fun doing it together.  At least one of us could plug along while the other one dealt with the kids and the other misc. mishaps.

Tomorrow dh and ds10 go on their father/son retreat.  It is sponsored by one of the statewide homeschooling groups and will be at the Pacific Ocean coastline.  It will be a drive for them but I know they are looking forward to the time together.  I, as mom and wife, am excited for their time to bond and do their manly stuff together.  The girls and I will hang out at home and finish green beans.  Not sure what else we will do except relax.

Our camping trip last week was a blast.  We went to Lake Wenatchee which is above the quaint little town of Leavenworth, WA.  Leavenworth is a replica of a Bavarian town.  Fun shopping for sure.  I got a few cute decorations for the house.  We mostly just had fun fellowshipping with old friends from our previous church that we were in 6 years ago.  All the kids are growing up.  It is so great to see them growing up to serve God.  What an encouragement for me.

My husband was working in WA a couple of years ago in the spring. I went to visit him and we decided to take a drive to Leavenworth (I'd read about it).

It was snowing and absolutely beautiful. We ate at a cute little restaurant in a celler and a man in liederhosen played the accordian!

I have enjoyed reading your blog and I am so impressed by the vast amounts of green beans you've harvested!
