Faith, Hope, & Love

• Monday, September 8, 2008 - My Blessed Twins are 3!!! Their Birth Story!

Matthew 6:34So don't worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Happy Birthday Girls!  We love you so!!!  We remember the day not but three mere years ago that social services called us and asked us to take twin babies.  I digress.  I should start on the Sunday night before the call on Monday morning.  We were sitting around as usual with our close friends Jose & Teresa.  I had just gone through my 6th or 7th miscarriage.  There have been so many I can't remember anymore.  It was quite devestating though as we were sure this baby (a boy) would have made it.  We felt surely God would bless us again.  (He would, just not in our terms.)  I remember crying to them that I wasn't sure if I could handle such pain anymore.  I was so exhausted.  I cried out and almost shouted that I just wanted God to send me a baby and NOW!  I remember feeling a shred of guilt and screaming out to my Father like that.  We all cried and then felt better.

The very next morning, I received a call from social services (we were foster parents at the time) about twin babies just born that had been abandoned at the hospital and would we be interested?  They were probably going to be for adoption depending on if they found birth mother, relatives, etc.  We were elated and immediately said yes.  No questions asked!  I knew in that moment God had answered my prayer.  The baby girls came home to us on September 11, 2003.  It was a beautiful day.  God had touched our lives and through my girls continues to touch us each and every day.

We had to come up with names as they were Baby A and Baby B.   We chose Emma Grace and Hannah Faith because they were brought to us, born from our hearts, by Faith & Grace.  We so cherish those girls.  It makes us realize every day that God's plan is sometimes so bigger than what we ever imagine for ourselves.  The parents of twins.  We never would have imagined.  We thank the Lord each and every day for sending us His daughters for us to love and cherish.  They have truly touched our lives.

Their birth story continues as we later met their birth mother.  She willingly and lovingly gave us her children to raise.  To her we are grateful.  She drove to the hospital from work on September 8th at 8:30 a.m.  She delivered Emma Grace at 9:05a.m. and Hannah Faith (breech) at 9:20 a.m.  A truly amazing woman.  We firmly believe God has a plan for her and her life as well.

To make the day even more special, when the twins came to us on September 11th, that was my daughter's 17th birthday.  She came home from school and we said "surprise!"  We hadn't mentionned the possibility of the twins because we felt perhaps something could happen.

We love you girls!

Hannah Faith!

Emma Grace!

Sisterly love and affection!

They are so cute! What a blessing. It is neat how Gods timing works. Some times it is so fast we can not believe it. And for a birthday gift for your older daughter, that is too cute! God Bless you and your family, mj

They are so sweet. Such a high blessing could only come from above. I am so glad you keep in touch with your daughter's birth mother, too. That was a delightful story.

Oh they are simply adorable!!!! What sweet faces and smiles. I just want to kiss them! LOL Thank yo so much for sharing this story with us. What a blessing that phone call was, and the fact that they were permanently placed with you.....what a miracle and blessing as well.

I have a friend who when we met at work, she had a 2 year old. She said he wasn't expected to live past his first birthday and she teared up when she spoke of him. One day she decided it was time to tell me the miracle of the birth story. She was called by a long lost friend one day, and asked if she could go to the local hospital. Her long lost friend's sister was in the hospital delivering her 6th baby, and the sister was far away and couldn't be there till the next day. So Denise went, and shortly after found out, the mother wanted to give the baby up. She couldn't take care of anymore babies, and they didn't expect the baby to live, so she definately didn't want him. They asked Denise and her hubby if they wanted the baby. They were shocked!! They went home that day, to pray about it, and before they could even get home, God had told them, go get that baby!!! LOL They went back to the hospital, gave them the answer and within a day or two had papers to sign. They had troubles explaining all this to the nurse when they tried to take the baby home, but after that, no problems. He had some awful health issues, all of which were straightened out by age 1. At age 2 he was little, bu doing well. He is 4 now, and growing leaps and bounds. I look at him, and I can't believe anyone would give him away!!! How could they??? But Denise, is the best mommy!!! She couldn't have asked for anything more. They had tried to have a child for 9 years, and then one was literally dropped in their lap!!!

Thanks again for the story. You have two gorgeous blessings.

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
