Peace Like a River

A fun survey

Posted in Miscellaneous

A couple other people (Martha's Kitchen, Lancelot Acres, and Homestead in the Making) have this on their blogs, and it looked like fun!

Ten things you've done today:
Made lunches, dropped the kids off at daycare, stopped at the bank, went to work, called about our refrigerator warranty replacement, gave my honey directions to a house for sale(!!!), fed the chickens, walked to the library with the kids, called my mom, watched a hot air balloon fly by.

Nine things you have to do tomorrow:
Go to work again, call a real estate agent, get things ready for Saturday (a wedding and a parade... unrelated events!), start the crockpot before I leave for work, relax a bit and recover from the work week, put away the clean laundry that I'm behind on, read my Bible, weed-weed-weed!, hug my honey and my kids!

Eight items always in your pantry
Do eight boxes of macaroni & cheese count?  Okay, seriously....   flour, sugar, olive oil, yeast, honey, salt, baking powder, spaghetti

Seven things you need to feel "at home":
My husband, my son, my daughter, my Bible, a cuddly kitty, a good book, a fire roaring in the fire place (except not this time of year!)

Six things that sum up your childhood:
Family, trips to Montana, playing outside all the time, horses, building houses, visiting my grandparents

Five items of clothing you wear again and again:
Oh, I don't know...  Definitely jeans...  but I'm trying to wear dresses more often, so there's a red dress with little white flowers that I really like.  I always wear it with a white sweater (does that count as two?).  Oh, and I have a really bright green striped shirt that I LOVE!  But whenever I wear it, I get teased.... Random people (at work) burst into song (the Blue's Clues theme song) since it apparently resembles Steve's shirt.  I don't see the resemblance, but others apparently do.  Hmmm..... this is hard.....let's see, one more.... I guess a gray hoodie.

Four places you've lived:
Three of them aren't very adventurous since they're all within about 10 miles of each other.... Everett, WA / Lynnwood, WA / Snohomish, WA.  But I made up for it by living in Costa Rica for a summer!

Three books you've loved reading recently:
Fascinating Womanhood by Helen Andelin, A New Song by Jan Karon, Man in Black by Johnny Cash

Two heart's desires:
To be a full time stay-home/homeschooling mom, To have a closer walk with God

One thing everyone reading this can pray about for you:
Oh, wow...  that this whole buy/sell, move, quit my job, find honey a new job, stay-home idea might actually work out.  Today is only day 1 of us thinking this might seriously happen.  It's so many things that have to go right though, I know it can only happen if God's hand is on the situation.  But even then, that's so, so many changes.... I'm really nervous at the thought (but excited too!)

How great to be able to watch a hot air balloon float by... I will keep you in my prayers regarding being a full time stay at home, home schooling mum. This is my hearts desire also. My husband has applied for numerous mining jobs in the hope that this will happen. For the moment I have a job interview to do evening work between mon & friday so that the children can be home with me during the day. If I get it then I will be able to leave my day job and not work weekends anymore.

I'm praying for you too, sister :). Just make His desires your desires and He WILL give you the desires of your heart :).
