Here are some random pictures from the past week or so: Heike's birthday was last week. My baby is 3!! It's so hard to believe!   And a few pictures of our chickens. They look so grown up (but still no eggs!!). They're about 4 months old now.   I think the Auracanas look a little silly with their big necks. I hadn't said my thoughts on this out loud, but Heike noticed on her own today and even called one "Big Head" like it was the chicken's name.    I've been battling Morning Glory at my house this spring and summer (truthfully for the last five years, ever since we moved in!!). These are before and after pictures of one of the Rhody's in our backyard. I had just weeded this spot, and I swear it all grew back overnight!!! This stuff drives me crazy!!  Before:  After:  A couple cute pics of the kids. Don't they just look like they're the "bestest" friends ever?   And while we were sitting on the porch, lo and behold, a hydroplane drove by! Yes, a real live hydroplane. And even more remarkable was the fact that it was going backwards... Actually it was at the neighbors house earlier so we got to look at it up close. We live on a deadend street with no turn around, so when it was time to leave, he had to back up a block before he could turn around. The VW Westy is ours, parallel parked on the road... it just happens to look impressive, like it's doing the towing. Really it's just parked and there's a pickup out of sight doing the real work. I wish I had gotten a better picture instead of just the bottom side... but it's proof that a hydroplane drove by my house. (Which reminds me, not long after we moved in, we also had two different horse and buggies/carriages drive by too.... I guess you never know they let loose on the streets around here!  ) |
